Then you might be interested in heading on over to the Sheraton Gateway LAX Hotel. The hotel is kicking off JetSet Sundays on May 25, a weekly poolside event that will last through the summer.

The hotel's executive chef has put together an exotic sort of menu with Brazilian steak sandwiches and grilled eggplants with sesame and soy, so don't come looking for your standby faves of hot dogs and burgers. (There won't be any bocce bellas there, either.)

However, there will be a Good Humor truck serving ice cream bars and cones. And don't forget about the drinks. Since the hotel is located near the airport, drinks are airline-inspired...

Team Gyllenspoon United At LAX

Sure is beautiful when life imitates US Weekly. After months of speculation, Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon's spontaneous gesture of affection at LAX on Monday suggests their relationship is more than tabloid dreams. According to US, the couple took advantage of the Italian press junket for their new movie, the Iraq war pic "Rendition," to canoodle openly in public.

Even if they weren't famous, we would say Reese and Jake were exhibiting an acceptable level of PDA for an airport. If only they could bring some of that shy chemistry to the movie, maybe they could stop it from box-office ignominy.

Airport Photo Shoot: Nicole and Joel at LAX

Nicole Richie and her baby daddy Joel Madden had the pleasure of enduring TSA screening yesterday when they snagged a flight out of the American Airlines terminal at LAX. They even got to wait in line with everyone else!

Joel, we have to say, was wearing a great airplane outfit: sunglasses, jeans and a zip-up. (It's always good to wear layers, since you never know how cold your plane will be.) Nicole, though, needs some trip coaching: her top doesn't look too cozy. Maybe she could borrow a sweater from ScarJo?

Close Call at LAX

This has not been the year for airlines. From day-long delays to canceled flights, 2007 has been the ultimate disaster. But things keep getting worse: It seems two planes missed colliding on the runway at LAX by less than 40 feet. Forty feet! Sure, no one was hurt--and that's good--but we thought the only planes that dared to get that close were the Rockin' Blue Angels.

WestJet and Northwest must have been auditioning for the part as they passed within 37 feet of each other. As an NWA Airbus accelerated for takeoff, the pilot of a WestJet Boeing switched radio frequencies and got instructions to cross the active runway. Believe it or not, stuff like this happens pretty frequently: this is the seventh so-called runway incursion at LAX in less than a year.

The Airport Song

The long line of songs about airports continues. Today's number is aptly titled "The Airport Song," and it was inspired by Los Angeles International Airport. LAX? Inspiring? We know, but this was also written back in the day when air travel was known to be charming once in a while. "The Airport Song," a David Crosby and Jim McGuinn collaboration, surfaced on a collection of early Byrds recordings called Preflyte. You can find it on iTunes or, most likely, the illicit source of your choosing. Considering the skill with which Crosby delivers this wistful melody, we can only assume that the airport was a stupendous place to get stoned in '64. Why else would the dude have been hanging out there?

Fergie Too Wasted to Fly

Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie can't lay off the sauce long enough to keep her lumps together to get on a plane! Reports are saying that Fergie was due to head to London with her fellow Peas on a Virgin Atlantic flight from LAX, when she showed up too trashed to get on the plane.

Onlookers said she was pissed when the crew wouldn't let her board because of her visible intoxication and that, "She was drunkenly ranting at staff but could barely string a sentence together. It was very embarrassing."

Fergie also, very annoyingly, delayed the flight for an hour while they had to remove her luggage from the plane. Her fairweather bandmates stayed on and traveled to London sans Ferg the Lush. A Virgin spokesperson wouldn't confirm or deny it was her, but did confirm the crew's denial to board a "female passenger" who was intoxicated and unfit to fly. Time to sober up Ferg, or you're never going to make your world tour.

Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore at LAX

The paparazzi videography boom isn't going away anytime soon. That's happy news, we guess, for us, but not so much for celebrity travelers. Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, the airport was a place where a lesser celebrity might be left alone and allowed to look a bit haggard. Not anymore, and now they'll really catch you in action.

Not that Cameron and Drew look bad here, but they were probably looking forward to a short flight anyway. The two were recently snapped and recorded at LAX checking in at the American Eagle counter and making their way through security. As you can see, they are true travelers of the people, and even stopped to sign autographs and pet puppies. Does this mean AAdvantage is their frequent flyer program of choice?

Ashley Olsen Hearts LAX

These recent pictures of Ashley Olsen at the airport say it all: celebrity travelers are just like us! Except that Ashley Olsen is looking beat and upset after what was probably a private flight. She should try a trans-con in legacy steerage sometime.

Doesn't she know about BUR? The airport that both normal people and celebrities can enjoy? Perhaps Ashley is so pissed about the inconvenient location of the Enterprise car rental lot in Burbank that she refuses to bring her business there. Enterprise does rent Land Rovers, right?
