Philadelphia International Airport just became the latest airport to utilize
Segway Personal Transporters, joining places like Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam (where HotelChatter editor Juliana Shallcross witnessed them on her
field trip), and O'Hare in Chicago. PHL has purchased four Segways (at $5,000 a pop) for police to use to patrol and/or procure donuts more effectively. But there's only room for one on a Segway PT, so you won't be able to hitch a ride anytime soon.
Americans may never look as adorable on scooters as the Dutch, but you can witness a bit of the action at PHL
here.

It's true: There are few things that will get you on our good side faster than offering free WiFi. (It keeps us from zonking out waiting for our next flight.) So we were happy to learn that Philadelphia International Airport has been offering free access to the Interwebs since the beginning of September.
Problem is, the fun could soon come to an end. The free access--which is only in the corridor/food court that connects terminals B and C anyway--is part of a pilot program initiated by AT&T and the company that runs the airport's food and beverage services. Elsewhere in the airport, you have to pay to get online--$8 for 24 hours.
Seems to us that they would rather make $8 a pop rather than not--unless, of course, they're selling tons more food now that stranded travelers are hanging out in the food court. As for us, we're not too excited about Johnnie's Dog House, but free wireless after New Year's would be a great Christmas gift. Cross your fingers.
