McDonald's Wireless Complete With Talking Moose
These days everyone is looking for one true go-to WiFi spot. Sure JiWire can give you an exhaustive list, but here at Jaunted we are starting a weekly search for go-to WiFi spots. The rules are simple. The signal has to be free fast, reliable, and if it isn't free, the place in question better offer extremely thin connectivity options. Have a city or destination you want us to investigate? Let us know. And if you have a favorite WiFi spot you are willing to share, send it to tipsATjauntedDOTcom.

McDonald's Wireless
First things first, McDonalds does not offer free WiFi, however, since many McDonalds restaurants tend to be in WiFi barren areas, $2.95 for two hours of reliable WiFi is can be a lifesaver.
Case in point: We spent the better part of last week on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee. A couple years back, we had to crash a bed & breakfast to get our web fix, but this year, Meredith McDonalds was able to serve as our satellite office for the week. There were plenty of booths with power outlets tucked away in the back of the restaurant where we were able to fully set up show without disturbing the fast food crowd, and vice versa.
With over 30,000 golden arches locations around the world, and over 7,000 of those restaurants already offering WiFi services, the McDonald's Wireless option just might have legs. A little hint, if you have flexibility in your schedule, try to hit up Mickey Dee's WiFi in the morning hours, during breakfast serving. Why? Well, let's just say the McDonald's lunch crowd tends to be a bit sloppy and the whole place smells of microwaved hamburgers and mustard packets sometime after 2pm.
Reedeeming Quality
The Meredith NH McDonald's came complete with the talking moose pictured above. No kidding. Every fifteen minutes or so the moose would say, in his best New Hampshire accent, "Welcome to McDonald's, try our delicious new iced coffee". And guess what? We felt compelled to try an iced coffee, and it was damn good.
