'Pack for a Purpose' on Your Next Vacation to the British Virgin Islands

The next time you travel to the British Virgin Islands leave some extra room in your luggage for a good cause.

The BVI Tourist Board is now supporting Pack for a Purpose, a non-profit that encourages travelers to bring meaningful contributions to the destinations they visit. Guests staying at participating hotels can drop off the supplies they've packed with the hotel's staff and they'll deliver it to local organizations in need.

BVI resorts Scrub Island Resort and Guana Island are now both participating in the project. You can find out exactly what they need and what to bring at packforapurpose.org.

How You Can Volunteer to Help Tornado Victims in the Southeast

A severe storm system is to blame for more than 25 deaths in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee over the last few days. Tornadoes have caused most of the damage, destroying homes and knocking out power across the central and southeastern United States.

Several organizations are already taking action and organizing volunteers who will deploy to the affected areas where they will help clear debris and rebuild.

One of these not-for-profits, Points of Light, is coordinating with HandsOn Network affiliates in the affected areas and Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster chapters across the U.S. to assess the situation and begin offering support.
