Vision Airlines Reboots with Eight New Flights Out of Myrtle Beach
There was a time when we were a little concerned about the future of Vision Airlines. The new kid on the block started to cancel some flights and terminate some routes, so we were thinking that their low-cost party was quickly coming to an end. Apparently that might not be the case, as the airline is still flying around, and even expanding.
Myrtle Beach seems to be their next big market, and they’ll even be using larger planes to get the job done. Boeing 737s are heading to the airport, as Vision Airlines looks to connect the coastal city with eight or so different destinations. If all goes according to plan they’ll be flying to spots like Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and Toledo. Other options will include Nashville, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Springfield, Illinois.

Vision Airlines Drops Some Cities, Makes Us Nervous
Vision Airlines kind of stormed onto the scene with low fares and unique routes, but now we’re a little concerned that the dream might be over. Right now it’s business as usual for the carrier, and if you head on over to their website they’re still busy advertising nonstop flights to make your next vacation that much better. However, we have noticed a few warning signs—and we’re not the only ones—that might be hinting at a short future for Vision Airlines.
First and foremost the airline is still flying around, so if you have tickets booked in the next few days you’re probably fine. What we’ve noticed is that they’ve started scaling back on destinations and flight cancellations have become the norm rather than the exception. Vision Airlines has already announced that they’re pulling out of the Atlanta market, and it sounds like they stopped their flights out of Northwest Florida Regional Airport over the weekend. There’s even reports that the carrier is saying goodbye to Grand Bahama as well, as those international options will fade into the sunset as soon as the middle of March.

Lufthansa, United and Virgin Atlantic Bring Plenty of New Routes to New Places
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· Virgin Atlantic:
Sir Richard Branson and his airline are coming to Canada, so you better get ready for a party filled with Mounties and maple syrup. Virgin Atlantic is adding its very first Canadian destination, as the airline is going to link up London-Heathrow with Vancouver beginning on May 24 of next year.
The idea is to utilize some of their Airbus A340s four times per week with the capacity to send around 240 passengers back and forth. Right now the plan is to just keep the option around until like the middle of October, as the airline is trying to get as many people as possible into the United Kingdom for next year’s Olympics. Hopefully—for Canadians and Londoners—the route will do well and Sir Richard will let it stick around.

This Week's New Routes Bring More Quick Connections to the Caribbean
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· JetBlue:
When it comes to new routes, JetBlue just can’t stop/won't stop, and this week they’re bringing a new international option to the residents of the greater New York City area. Thanks to JetBlue, Westchester County Airport is getting their very first international flight to Nassau, Bahamas as of November 15. Of course they need to get government approval first, but we’re thinking that won’t be too much of an issue. Flights will run every day of the week, and if you’re looking to test things out for yourself there’s one-way fares as low as $129 if you book today.
· American Airlines:
There’s one more option between New York-JFK and Tokyo-Narita thanks to American Airlines beginning this September. The carrier already kind of does this pretty much all the time, but as of September 6 it becomes a daily option. There doesn’t appear to be any sales or other deals to celebrate, but maybe they’ll surprise us as the schedule change approaches. Just be sure to pack plenty of in-flight entertainment and snacks, as this trip is going to be a long one!

JetBlue, Vision Airlines and Emirates Boast Some of This Week's New Routes
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· JetBlue:
Good news for those in the Nutmeg State who don't feel like driving over to New York or Boston, as JetBlue just upped their offerings out of Bradley International Airport outside of Hartford. The free chips and television carrier will start nonstop flights between Connecticut and San Juan beginning in January of next year. Even if Puerto Rico isn't your final destination, no need to worry, as there's plenty of other connection options available to other slices of paradise.
· Emirates:
There's certainly been plenty options to and from Iraq lately, and this week it looks like Emirates is adding one more. Beginning in November, the carrier will start service between Baghdad and Dubai. Specifically things will begin on November 13, and Emirates is planning to head back and forth four times a week. So if you've been thinking about hitting up Iraq before everyone else does, now's the time to visit.

Vision Airlines is Out of Control, with Like 100 Different Flight Options Already
We’ve known for a while that Vision Airlines has been attempting to take over the entire country—watch out Southwest—and it looks like this week brings even more flight options. They started out with a few flights here and there across the south—kind of like Delta—but now it seems like they’re starting to slowly expand across the country.
The big news is that they’re now all about connecting flights as well, as they’re kind of starting their very first hub in Florida. They’re concentrating on sending as many flights in and out of Destin/Ft. Walton Beach as possible, and they’ve actually already got like 100 different flight flavors. Yestriple digits. It was kind of hard for us to believe that the first time we read it too, especially since they’ve really only been doing things like since the beginning of March. We only first heard of them during that whole Russian spy transport thing.

Vision Airlines Moves Full Speed Ahead With New Flights To Vegas
When we last talked about Vision Airlines, they were just getting their wheels up in the air for the first time and trying to make some cash by luring passengers with pretty cheap airfare. Their business model must be working pretty well—or at least people are eager to hit the beach—as it's only a few months into 2011 and they’re already expanding outside of the their initial market.
The low cost carrier originally announced service to and from cities all over the Southeast—with a random option to upstate New York—but now it looks like they’re heading west to tap another huge market. No we’re not talking about Memphis or St. Louis—although they are headed there too—it’s Las Vegas.

Vision Airlines May Just Soon Be in Your Sights
It’s only been a couple months since we learned about Vision Airlines’ plan to fly plenty of paying customers around the United States, but now they’re looking to expand and conquer. USA Today compares their new plans to those of another low cost carrier—Allegiant Air. All because it initially looks like they’re all about connecting passengers from boring places—no offense—to warm places via some cheap flights.
At first Vision Airlines was only flying back and forth between Louisville and Atlanta, but things have certainly changed in only a short amount of time. Florida is the airline’s newest hot spot, and they have like 20 cities that will soon connect with the Sunshine State.

Qantas, Delta, and Vision Airlines Have Just Some of This Week's New Routes
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· Qantas:
We’re not sure if it has anything to do with Oprah, but Qantas is adding a new city to its route network. The kangaroo carrier will start service from Sydney to Dallas/Ft. Worth beginning on May 16. Qantas will send Boeing 747s back and forth four times a week, but eventually things might be upgraded to daily service. The only downer is that San Francisco is losing its Sydney route on Qantas to make room for the new Texas connection.
· Continental:
The country still might have a lot of work ahead of it after last year’s earthquake, but Continental is betting that there’s plenty of interest in visiting Haiti in 2011. The airline is planning to startup some nonstop service between Newark and Port-Au-Prince, starting June 9. To begin, flights will just run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, but as of July 1 flights will become a daily option. Everything is still pending government approval, but we’re thinking it’s a safe bet if they’re already announcing it.

Southwest, Vision, Frontier, and Delta Are Just a Few of This Week's New Routes
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· Vision Airlines:
Things must be going well for Vision Airlines, as they’re already looking to expand their service. Not satisfied with their options to and from Atlanta, the airline is now looking to help residents of upstate New York escape the snow and sleet this winter. Flights will begin on December 17 twice a week between Niagara Falls International Airport and Miami International Airport.
For those that want a different place to swim and sun, the routes will also be making a stop at Northwest Florida Regional Airport on the way to South Beach. They’ll be using Boeing 737s on this route, and if you’re looking for an early Christmas presents, introductory rates start at just $79 each way.

Vision Airlines Isn't Just for Russian Spies Anymore
There’s a somewhat new airline getting ready to take the skies, but at first their flights are going to be quite limited. Vision Airlines has been serving passengers on their charter aircraft to destinations like the Grand Canyon, but now they’re going to start offering regularly scheduled passenger service. Expect low fares, frequent flights, and a chance to fly aboard Dornier 328 turboprops.
Right now the airline is probably most famous for sending that hot Russian spy and her comrades back home; however, they’re now looking to capitalize on their fame by launching low fares between Louisville and Atlanta. Flights begin on December 13—just in time for all that fun holiday travel—and planes will head back and forth twice daily. Flights start at just $99 each way before taxes and fees, which is probably a lot less than Delta charges on the same route.
