To celebrate the anti-Valentine's Day, we present the best red-light district tours. These are about learning and looking, not touching. So stay away, pervs.

Check out our top red-light tours, this way:

· Tokyo
If you aren't into the group thing, you can explore Kabukicho, Tokyo's red-light district, on your own with a 65-minute audio tour that you can download to your iPhone along with a pdf map. It will give you the history of the seedy section, the government's attempts to move it out of the city and some recommendations of non-sleazy fun in the area.

The Top Five Worst Places To Spend Valentine's Day

February 3, 2010 at 9:30 AM | by | Comments (2)

It’s not too tricky to find a good spot to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Just mix together warmth, sand and sun and typically you’ll be good to go—we’ve even found a few for you. And there’s still plenty of ways to mess things up, a few of which might be taking your sweetheart some of our suggestions below, as these are the worst events and locations to celebrate Valentine’s Day in 2010.

· Roses At The Rodeo In Texas
If you don’t want to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the same person in 2011, then taking him or her to the rodeo for some animal cruelty and men in tight jeans is a great idea. Champion bull rider Tuff Hedeman—apparently he’s a big deal—will be attending the February event at the Bee County Exposition Center. Tickets are just $10 in advance, and the first 100 ladies in attendance will be given a flower. If this was on your radar as a possibility you might as well leave the car running for a quick escape.

Our Love for Low-Cost Carriers Continues with Pegasus Air

February 1, 2010 at 4:30 PM | by | Comments (0)

Have you ever heard of Pegasus Airlines? We can't remember if we have, but apparently they've been flying for 19 years in Turkey, and have some pretty great rates for travel around Europe, especially with their current Valentine's Day promotion.

Let's say you'll be in London for good old Valentine's, but you've got a little extra vacation time. Why not skip Paris but still honor the memory of the romantic Orient Express by hopping a flight to Istanbul? If you book on Pegasus before February 13, and fly between February 11 and 15, then the second passenger travels for 50% off.

Or just forget it and wait until March, when the airline begins service between Paris-Orly and Istanbul, with tickets starting from 49.99 EUR one-way. Yes, Pegasus considers itself a low-cost carrier, so you in-flight meals will cost money, but you can at least pre-order them. Perhaps it's time we finally dipped our toes in the Bosphorus...

Forget Paris, Do Six Nights Over Valentine's Day in Rome for $649

Where: Rome, Italy
January 29, 2010 at 12:30 PM | by | Comments (0)

Guess what is only two weeks away? Yep, Valentine's Day is back again, and with it comes the scramble for half-hearted gifts for your sweetheart, even though the thought is whole-hearted.

The newspapers are full of jewelry store ads and specials on weekend trips to Paris, but we're feeling something a bit warmer, someplace with more dolce vita than savoir faire, if you know what we mean. So then, it's off to Rome!

For the next few months, even including all dates around Valentine's Day, Travelzoo has found a huge deal on a hotel+flights+breakfast deal to Rome for $649. It's listed as $749 on the go-today travel site that is selling the deal, but enter promo code TZ012710 at checkout to knock off that pesky $100 difference. The hotel may be only 3.5 stars, but hey—at least you're in Rome with a bed and you've spent less than if you were to head straight into a jewelry store and just point at something nice.

Stars Who Love To Love

February 16, 2009 at 9:11 AM | by | Comments (0)

Even if celebs were out and about their business, Saturday still wasn't a normal day. Beyonce and Jay-Z attended a charitable event together in Mesa, Arizona, where they and baller LeBron James donated 150 musical instruments to a local school.

Jennifer Lopez performed in New York's Madison Square Garden Saturday night, bringing onstage not only husband Marc Anthony but their nearly one-year-old twins Max and Emme. The kids looked a little shell-shocked, but it was their first show!

Since they love the cameras as much as (maybe more than?) they love each other, it's not surprising Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt of "The Hills hosted a V-day bash at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas.

Of course, not all of them could be with the ones they loved. Heidi Klum left her beloved Seal at home as she hit New York Fashion Week to attend the Barbie Fall 2009 runway show and pose with some festive balloons. After a high-profile spat with girlfriend Samantha Ronson on the 13th after sis Charlotte's fashion show in New York City, Lindsay Lohan slipped out on the morning of the 14th to pick up a little something at Blue & Cream -- maybe an "I'm sorry" gift?

And Miley Cyrus' rumored fling Justin Gaston was nowhere in sight as the starlet and her mom hit London's TopShop, which opened after-hours just for her. After all, diamonds are a girl's best friend, but new clothes show up better on TV.

Celebrate Your Love By Crawling Inside a Human Heart

February 14, 2009 at 12:55 PM | by | Comments (2)

It's Valentine's Day. How will you show your special one the depth of your love? If you're near Philadelphia and appreciate a hyper-literal interpretation of symbolism, we suggest taking a journey into a human heart. The Franklin Institute's Giant Walk-Through Heart provides visitors with an inside look at the "engine of life," with narrow passages that follow the flow of blood through veins, arteries, valves, and chambers to the ever-present cadence of a heartbeat.

We're In Love With Pizza And Wine

February 13, 2009 at 1:46 PM | by | Comments (0)

Is your sweetheart a wine expert, or does he or she just want something to wash down some delicious pizza with? A Valentine's Day culinary tour in Detroit will satisfy either way.

Taste-Full Tours was founded by two foodies and former Williams-Sonoma employees who take foodies on a bus ride to sample all kinds of treats from the Detroit metro area. The Pizza and Wine Lover's Tour begins at noon and involves four and a half hours of all-in tastings (included with your $60 fee).

We guess this could work just as well as an Anti- Valentine's Day activity as well, if you are brave enough to actually leave the house for your pizza and wine. Which you totally are!

For Richer or Poorer, Lots More V-Day Tables This Year

February 12, 2009 at 2:36 PM | by | Comments (0)

We know, we know, everyone hates Valentines Day. But when it comes down to it, if you have a significant other, you really don't get the option of skipping it completely. The good news for V-Day slackers is that while it still promises to be one of the busiest restaurant nights of the year, the battered economy means a lot more romancers will be offering to cook at home, and it's markedly easier to get a table out than in past years.

For example, just browsing through OpenTable New York this morning, we see you can't get seats at any of the super-obvious V-Day restaurants like Greenwich Village proposal hotspot One if By Land, Two if By Sea or under-the-bridge Brooklyn beauty River Café, but if you just search for what restaurants still have space Saturday night, you'll see there is plenty of room at the next tier down; say, trendy Village wine bar Cru or Midtown foodie fav BLT Market. Not exactly wow-inducing settings, but trust us, you could not get reservations at restaurants this nice two days before V-Day last year, and the same holds true searching most cities.

Of course, the whole reason all these seats are available is because no one has any damn money. But don't worry—cheap Valentine's dates are in this year. Restaurants that would have never aimed for the romantic crowd in years past are betting they can reel in cheapskates in this economy. Example A: The Waffle House, which will be serving candle-lit steak dinners at 32 of its restaurants. And no, reservations are not needed. Did you want that scattered or smothered, sweetie?
