How do two hot R&B stars make their getaway? In extraneous layers, apparently! Rihanna and Chris Brown are heading back to the US from Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados (where she was born), but they sure don't look as if they were just on the beach!
Rihanna has the rest of the summer off from touring, while Brown has one more concert on Wednesday before taking a tour break. Hopefully they'll have time for a less stressful vacation.
Chris Brown and Rihanna made like a high school couple and recently enjoyed a day at the amusement park at Paramount's Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia. Aww, see, he's holding her stuff so she can go on the coasters!

The story at last night's Grammy Awards was largely about who didn't make it to the show, not who did: Because of an eleventh-hour visa rejection, award frontrunner Amy Winehouse couldn't leave rehab to sing "Rehab" nor to pick up any of her five trophies.
Of course, maybe Kanye West would rather have skipped the awards when he once again lost Album of the Year--this time to Herbie Hancock for his Joni Mitchell concept album "River: The Joni Letters."
Rihanna performed and picked up an award for best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Jay-Z, a trinket that probably was comforting when she got into a wee fender-bender on the way out. Elsewhere, Barack Obama won a Grammy for the audio version of his latest book, beating out former president Bill Clinton in a coincidence that says absolutely nothing about the election.
Tattoo-loving pop goddess Rihanna recently stopped in at Body Electric in Hollywood to get some more ink. Last time we checked, she was getting cut on the other coast at Whatever Tattoo in New York. The singer herself says:
I like hanging out in tattoo shops. I am so intrigued by tattoos. It's an entire culture, and I study it. Sometimes I go with friends or just by myself.

Europe played host to another awards show this weekend as the MTV Europe Awards were held in Munich, Germany. Avril Lavigne took home Artist of the Year, Amy Winehouse acted completely weird onstage and host Snoop Dogg wore lederhosen--something we dearly wish we had caught in person.

Just when you thought MTV's Video Music Awards couldn't get more ridiculous, this year's VMAs--in Vegas for the first time--came through big: Sarah Silverman cracked dirty jokes, Kid Rock and Tommy Lee scuffled and Rihanna scooped up two Moon Men. And, of course, Britney opened her "comeback" performance with the imminently classy line, "It's Britney, bitch!"
Holding the whole shebang at The Palms Casino Resort was a great move--where else but a hotel should Fall Out Boy smash up guitars after playing a set? Kanye West performed at the Palms' Hugh Hefner Sky Villa--and not on the main stage, much to his dismay. (Funny, Britney didn't have a problem performing there.)
Kid Rock's scuffle with Tommy Lee got him kicked out of the Palms, set off a Vegas wide police search, and earned him a misdemeanor battery. However, he didn't get a moon man for his performance, looks like he will have to wait until the 2008 MTV Movie Awards where he is sure to snag the award for "Best Fight".
