One Year Later, 'Slumdog Millionaire' Stars Jetsetting Couple
Last year, audiences around the world watched as Jamal and Latika (spoiler alert!) reunited for a Bollywood-style dance on a Mumbai train platform. Now Dev Patel and Freida Pinto, the stars of Best Picture Winner "Slumdog Millionaire," are a jet-setting couple chasing their next big projects all over the globe.
The young actors, British and Indian by birth respectively, were spotted recently at LAX after a romantic lunch at La Conversation Cafe in Los Angeles. Pinto recently finished filming her role as the title character in "Miral," a drama about adoption shot in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Israel with Best Director nominee Julian Schnabel. Now, she's filming Woody Allen's new movie "You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger" in London with Naomi Watts and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

George Clooney Exclusively Flies American Airlines For 'Up In The Air'
Why should kids' movies have all the cross-promotional fun? According to the folks at Paramount, they shouldn't. That's why they teamed up with American Airlines who, in exchange for product placement in the new George Clooney movie "Up In The Air," let the film's director, Jason Reitman, have free filming access to its terminals, planes and the Admirals Clubs. The access came in handy considering the movie is about an executive who flies around the country and fires people.
But the partnership doesn't end there. Last weekend American hosted a press junket on one of its 767 that featured a screening of the film, a live performance by Sad Brad, the band that composed the film's soundtrack, and an interview with Anna Kendrick, who plays Clooney's apprentice in the film. American is also sponsoring tie-in auctions exclusively for AAdvantage Miles members for upgrades and movie-related items.

Johnny Depp And Angelina Jolie May Each Become A 'Tourist'
It's every casting director's dream, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie starring in a film about a man drawn into a web of danger by a female interpol agent as she tries to track down an ex-lover. If the rumors are true, the dream may become a reality soon.
Various reports claim that Johnny Depp is in talks to star in “The Tourist” along with Jolie, but don't get your hopes up too soon. The film has already gone through several casting shakeups. Originally, Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron were set to star but scheduling conflicts got in the way. If the current casting rumors pan out, this will be the second time in a year that Jolie has stepped into a film originally meant for Cruise. Tom had been eyeing "The Tourist" and the upcoming movie "Salt," but dropped out of both for "Knight and Day," which is currently shooting in Boston.
"The Tourist" will most likely be shot in Europe, which is alright with Angie. Apparently, the mother of six is tired of the constant media attention in the States and plans to work mostly in Europe for the next few years. Filming for "The Tourist" is set to start early next year.

Steven Spielberg Keeps His Two Percent Of Universal Studios Ticket Sales
We were pretty eager to see if Steven Spielberg and Mickey Mouse would actually come together to create some kind of super theme park. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen, and we’ll just have to settle for separate parks with separate rides. At the end of the summer it seemed that Spielberg might be getting out of his lucrative theme park consulting contract, but instead, he’s just extending it.
He agreed to delay a buyout option in his consulting contact with NBC Universal, which means he’ll be getting a fat paycheck until 2017. He’ll probably get to throw his two cents in when it comes to designing new attractions in Singapore and Dubai, so we might need to put those new parks on our theme park wish list. Maybe he’ll even tell Harry Potter how to do things the Spielberg way down in Florida. We kind of figured that his deal was too good to drop, especially because Disney probably wouldn’t have wanted to share that much cash with anyone.

Only the Coconut Crabs Really Know Where Amelia Earhart Is
Just as a biopic of her life is released, a group of researchers claim to have found the spot in the western Pacific where Amelia Earhart disappeared on an attempted round-the-world flight in 1937. As the Discovery Channel points out, the awkwardly-acronymed The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) said it has evidence that Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, made a forced landing on a coral atoll called Nikumaroro - part of the Phoenix Islands, Kiribati - and became castaways and eventually succumbed to disease, thirst, hunger, or injury.

Fly High In Nova Scotia In Honor Of The New Movie 'Amelia'
Like the real Amelia Earhart, Hilary Swank traveled around the world while shooting the film Amelia, in theaters today. They even spent a few very notable days in picturesque Halifax, Nova Scotia where they recreated Earhart's departure on the plane "Friendship," which landed in Wales less than a day later, making Amelia the first woman to cross the Atlantic by plane.
In honor of Amelia, here are a few tips to having a high-flying getaway of your own in Nova Scotia:

Come Artists And All To Cinema Arts Festival Houston
Austin gets all the credit for being the arty city in Texas, and Houston residents probably like it that way: When no one's depending on you to bolster your state's reputation, you get a lot more work done! But the city where "Reality Bites" and "Rushmore" were filmed is stepping into the limelight with next month's Cinema Arts Festival Houston.
Held November 11 to 15, the fest says it focuses on "films by and about artists," offering events like a conversation with screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga ("Babel") Nov. 13 and a screening of the new documentary "Yes Men Fix The World" with one of the Yes Men, who have been wreaking havoc in Washington D.C. this week with fake press conferences and silly costumes—that's on November 14 and 15.

Where To Start A Rumpus In Melbourne, Australia
Director Spike Jonze chose to film "Where The Wild Things Are" on location with puppets, rather than in front of a blue screen; an expensive gamble that paid off, considering the movie brought in 32.5 million dollars this weekend. To get the location just right for his adaptation of the beloved children's book, Jonze considered locations in Argentina, Hawaii, New Zealand and California before settling on Melbourne, Australia. Here's a look at where you can go "wild" in Melbourne.
What to Do:
Jonze took full advantage of Melbourne's unique surroundings for the film. He used a burnt-out forest near Gembrook, just outside of Melbourne, as the movie's primary location. He also filmed scenes at the cliffs of Bushrangers Bay in Victoria and among the boulders of the You-Yangs. The You-Yangs are a series of granite peaks that rise dramatically in the Werribee lava plains and can be explored on foot or by bike. The You-Yangs Regional Park is perfect for a day of hiking, biking or picnicking off the beaten path. The park is open daily until sunset, mountain bikes can be rented via All About Mountain Bike Tours.

Hawaii Heats Up the Film Festival Circuit

Though the time for Tribeca, Cannes, and Toronto has come and gone, the film festival circuit hasn't screeched to a halt. There's Sundance to look forward to, of course, but a welcome alternative to similar large-scale hype galas are festivals held far away from Los Angeles, New York, and other metropoles.
Hawaii may not be Hollywood, but there's still creativity abound on the big island. And while it may not attract as much attention as, say, Berlin, the Hawaii International Film Festival has earned a well-respected reputation among cinema's inner circle, with people like Roger Ebert praising its East-meets-West sensibility.

Where Will The Next Generation Of National Lampoon's 'Vacation' Go?
When we talk about the best road trip movie ever, nothing even comes close to the 1983 classic "National Lampoon's Vacation." You remember it: Clark Griswald drives his family from Chicago to California to have a family fun time at Walley World, but a million little hilarious obstacles occur along the route. The movie spawned sequels, like European Vacation, Vegas Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and even another sequel to Christmas Vacation. But apparently the world hasn't had enough of the Griswalds, and 26 years after the original, yet another sequel is in the works.
This time however, Clark (played by Chevy Chase) is staying home while his grown-up son Rusty, with kids of his own, strikes out on the American family road trip. David Dobkin, the director of "Wedding Crashers" is expected to at least produce, if not direct, the new movie. Right now, the ultimate destination of the road trip hasn't been named, but we have a few ideas of where the Griswalds might be heading this year century...
