Kobe Bryant Ignores the Kardashians in the Case of Turkish Airlines
We’re not going to take sides in the Kobe Bryant airline spokesperson drama, but we will report that it’s all speed ahead for the Lakers star and his partnership with Turkish Airlines.
Kobe recently hit the soundstage to finish taping of his latest Turkish Airlines commercial which is set to hit the air in the next month or so. In addition to the United States, the new spot will be available in around 80 countries, as the carrier looks to expand their reach around the globe.

Kobe Bryant Becomes the Face of Turkish Airlines, and Kim Kardashian Isn't Happy About It
Airlines in the United States usually don’t have too much extra cash hanging around to sign on famous celebrities and athletes, but that doesn’t appear to be the case for overseas carriers. This week, Turkish Airlines announced that in exchange for a whole bunch of lira, Kobe Bryant would serve as the airline’s global brand ambassador.
For the next two years, Kobe will make appearances and show up in advertisements across the globe to share the benefits of Turkish Airlines with the world. We don’t know if it’s going to make the carrier one of the world's most popular, but at least we now know about their new nonstop service from Los Angeles to Istanbul. There will be four flights per week beginning next March, and we bet Kobe will be on board one of them to shoot hoops at the Atatürk Airport, or in Europe and Asia at the same time.

While Kobe Hits the Beach, LeBron Does DC

NBA Finals LeBron James, last seen exiting the Eastern Conference Finals in quite a hurry, was in DC last night to take in a screening of More Than a Game at the opening night of the SilverDocs Documentary Film Festival. Kristopher Belman’s movie follows five promising young ballers from Akron, Ohio, one of whom just happens to grow up and become the greatest player of his generation (Kobe might argue that title is still pending).
And while LeBron still doesn't have that championship trophy, that didn't stop him from swinging by the White House to chat with Barack Obama for a few.
Of course basketball fans immediately wondered whether the future free agent had a good enough time in the nation's capital to consider a move there next year—can we expect a swing through New York on the way back, LeBron?

Kobe Will Brave Swine Flu for Cabo Vacation
Kobe Bryant just won the NBA finals but he isn’t going to Disney World; he’s going to Cabo. "That's all I want to see," Kobe said after the game, "I want to see a beach, some waves, maybe a surfboard."
Bryant had 30 points, six rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots in last night’s game against the Orlando Magic, helping the LA Lakers win 99-86. He took a little something home for himself toohis first Finals MVP trophy.

2008 NBA Playoffs Travel: Celebrities Flock to the Staples Center
It's that time of the year again. You know, when NBA ballers actually start playing up to their potential--and their mega-sized paychecks--in the quest for the blinged-out championship ring.
And when the NBA playoffs kick into high gear, so do the celebrities who score courtside seats to see their favorite hometown boys take the court.
We were lucky (unlucky?) enough to get prime seats at the Staples Center for the first game of the series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers always have a celeb crowd and Kobe Bryant is practically a god to deluded Angelenos, but the playoffs really kick the pretty people into high gear.
