Australia Gets Its Own 'Jersey Shore' TV Show, But Worse.
What?! Have the kids from 'Jersey Shore' all transplanted themselves in the Southern Hemisphere? Not really. But this copy-cat reality television show can be easily mistook for Snooki and her friends, going down under. The show is called "The GC," and it follows the antics of 9 Maori twenty-somethings living on Australia's playground, the Gold Coast. For the record: Maoris are the indigenous population of New Zealand.
The show highlights the life of the young Maori-Aussies as they acclimate to their new home and soak up everything that the tourist destination has to offer. Along with lots of booze, sun and sand, the show's characters even have their own lingo, just like the JS. The cast G-T-Ls up and down the glitter strip, while working for a better life in Australia.

Rent the 'Jersey Shore' House for $2,500, Since the Cast Isn't Coming Back
You won't find it on AirBnb, but you will stumble upon it on the same block it's been on since before the MTV Jersey Shore came in and GTL-ed all over its six bedrooms and roofdeck. Naturally we're talking about the Jersey Shore housethe very one featured in Seasons 1 and 3 of the popular reality show. It's up for rent to regular folks for a whopping $2,500 a day, according to the AP.
Checking out the official listing on Seaside Realty, we can see that the place comes complete with six bedrooms, three bathrooms, three parking spaces and the option of catering or getting a rental DJ. We're going to go ahead and assume that the place is booked up for New Year's already, but now would be the time to begin scooping up summer 2012 dates.
Alas, the cast of the Jersey Shore will not return to film a fifth season at the house, as two spin-off shows are already in the works. The first will follow the further adventures of Snooki and J-Woww as they become roommates, while the second trails DJ Pauly D around the world, making various music and celebrity appearances. Filming on both will commence this late autumn, with the series to hit the air in 2012.

Thanks to MTV, 'Jersey Shore' Escapes the Real Jersey Shore by Private Jet
While the rest of us were scrambling for days trying to rearrange delayed flights out of New York and New Jersey, The Jersey Shore cast got a free ride out of the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey on Saturday, courtesy of MTV.
The network wanted the cast in Los Angeles for Sunday night's VMAs so badly that they chartered a private jet as area airports were canceling commercial flights thanks to Hurricane Irene. "We had to get out here for the VMAs," Vinny said after arriving in L.A. "MTV did whatever they could to get us out here. We wouldn't miss it for the world."

The Cast of 'Jersey Shore' Finally Says Ciao to Filming in Florence

We hope the cast reviewed our guide to interacting with human statues
It is again safe to travel to Florence without unwittingly ending up an extra on Jersey Shore. That was fast. Just as it still seems like the eight-strong cast of the MTV show were settling into their Italian digs, they're already out. The eight weeks of filming for the fourth season wrapped this weekend and Snooki, J-Woww, The Situation and assorted other characters have already left the (historical) building, flying out of Florence and back to New Jersey.
That's right; while the Italy season debuts on MTV on August 4, the cast will be in the midst of the fifth season, to be shot back in their old stomping grounds of Seaside Heights, NJ. Their pay-per-episode estimate? Definitely over six figures, says Daily Mail. With that you think they could afford some nicer luggage (see their bags here).

America Has Successfully Shipped the 'Jersey Shore' to Florence...For Now
Somehowno doubt thanks to MTV's greasing the cogsthe Jersey Shore gang has made it overseas to their temporary new home in Florence, Italy. After some logistical hiccups that delayed their arrival for filming their fourth season, Snooki, Vinnie, J-Woww, Sammi, Mike, Ronnie, Deena and Pauly D all dropped their luggage and picked up the Dirty Italian phrasebooks this weekend at their townhouse in centro.
Of course the Daily Mail is practically stalking the cast, breathlessly reporting on every store they stop in and every cobblestoned corner they turn, followed as they are are curious crowds.
Thus far they haven't done anything particularly interesting or culture-offending, but they are using paper maps. Like, umm, MTV couldn't get them smartphones with an international plan for this, where they could just bring up Google Maps? Perhaps seeing them attempt to fold a big paper map is part of the fourth season's humor? Whatever, we're bored now and unless J-Woww starts sleeping with Berlusconi, we're about to tune out.

Will 'Jersey Shore' Season Four in Florence Be Finito Before It's Even Begun?
Far be it for us to leave you without the latest Jersey Shore news, which this week involves some international conflict. It seems that the city of Florence has revoked some of the filming permits required for MTV to follow the Guidos and Guidettes for their fourth season of hijinks. The shooting was due to begin and Snooki has already packed her hair straightener and Paul D his hair gel, but this holdup could mean something more than a delay.
Already Florence's mayor is against Jersey Shore's coming to town, and with the Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery specifically turning away the crew, we wonder if MTV's smooth talkers will able to iron this all out and make the Italy season happen at all. Summer is, after all, the busiest tourist season in Florence and we're sure the city isn't keen on having these American brats garnering more attention (and crowds) than Italy's own ancient masterpieces and landmarks.

Snooks On A Plane!
Yes, that is Snooki from MTV's Jersey Shore sitting in First Class(!) onboard an Virgin America plane. And yes, she is doing more than making use of the in-flight WiFi; she's plugged in her carry-on hair straightener to the seat's outlet and is freshening up before arriving back to New York from a jaunt to LAX.
This is something of a follow-up to our story on Monday, where we reported that RonnieSnooki's co-starwas flying Virgin America while Snooki stuck with Southwest Airlines. But ahhhh...not so! It seems as though Snooki gets around, and just might have more frequent flyer miles than business travelers, the way her guest appearances have her flying all over the country.
Soon she'll have to choose an international airline however, as season four of Jersey Shore is set to film inwait for itItaly! Lord help us all.

Jersey Shore Jetting: Ronnie Flies Virgin America While Snooki Sticks with Southwest
We know it might be hard to believe that anyone still cares enough about the Jersey Shore to cause them to travel around the country, doing appearances. But it's true. Everyone from "The Situation" to Vinnie are out there, flying around, hosting club nights and endorsing weird diet and beauty products. Recently, Ronnie and Snooki separately tweeted about how much fun they were having flying on a couple low-cost carriers:
@MTVRonnie: Virgin American Airlines is Dopppppeee... Like a kid in a toy store lol
Ignore for a moment all the things wrong in that tweet and just imagine the wonder on Ronnie's face as the cabin mood lighting came on, and he discovered the WiFi. Yea, it's no wonder MC Hammer loves VX too.

The Magic of Taiwanese CGI Gives a Preview of 'Jersey Shore' in Italy
Just in case you simply can't wait to see what kind of cultural blunders the Jersey Shore crew makes when they film their fourth season in Italy in the spring, the masters of Taiwanese CGI have thankfully created a preview.
We love how MTV execs ship Snooki and gang off in a shipping container, and how they head straight to an Olive Garden. We won't spoil the whole thing for you, but do keep watch what happens in the canals of Venice. If only Venice wasn't so strict about such things, we could definitely see it actually happening (with "the Situation" at the wheel).
Will 'Jersey Shore' ruin Italy? Probably not. Will 'Jersey Shore' inspire many summer trips to the country? It's very likely. In fact, we bet they do more for Italian tourism than Oprah did for Australia. And that is kinda sad.

Fourth Season of 'Jersey Shore' in the Works, But Isn't Everyone Over It Already?
We don't know about you, but although we dutifully watch every episode of the first season of Jersey Shore on MTV, we couldn't barely get into the second season, the one that removed the "Jersey" from the Jersey Shore and transported the gang down to Miami. It was just...horrible; yes, more horrible than even the premiere season. At least then that was the idea of it. Well, with the third season (back on the Jersey Shore) gearing up to debut on January 6, MTV is apparently to keep milking that cash cow, as it's been hinted that a fourth season is in the works.
In addition to the fact that the cast are yet again renegotiating their contractsbecause $30,000 per episode still isn't enoughthe Daily Mail drops this juicy note: "The whole cast are expected to return to Seaside Heights, New Jersey in the New Year to begin filming for Season four."

The New Kids On The Block and The Backstreet Boys' Tour May Contain a Little 'Jersey Shore'
Last week on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys confirmed what was once only a dream for teen girls: they are going on tour together.
Both groups seem just as excited as fans to be touring together. Donnie Wahlberg told Seacrest, "The beauty of this show is they can expect Backstreet Boys to sing their hits. They can expect us to sing our hits [and then] the surprises. I can't wait. I can't wait."

'Brighton Beach' Reality Show Will Go Up Against 'Jersey Shore'
Are you tired of MTV's Jersey Shore yet? Your response to that doesn't really matter because either way, another show very similar to it is due to hit the TV, and it'll focus on an area not very far at all from Jersey Shore's Seaside Heights: Brooklyn's Brighton Beach. Auditions for the proposed Russian-American reality show wrapped in March, and now it's been confirmed that the series is coming to Lifetime next year.
Originally, the producers wanted "the Russian Snooki" and someone who attends "birthday parties at Russian restaurants every weekend," but now, with Lifetime's backing, they're recasting for families in order to tell a "multigenerational women’s story about life in the community." Hmm, that sounds like every other Lifetime movie they already have, except that this one will be a 12-episode series.
