Apple's iPhone 4 Releases Today; How Will It Benefit Travelers?

Happy Apple iPhone 4G release day, everybody! That's right; today is the day that iPhone owners around the USA attempt to sell their lovingly used iPhone 3GS for this mac daddy, which sports more than just aesthetic upgrades, but a whole slew of new features that will especially delight those on the move.

We won't tear the iPhone 4G apart with a Point and Counterpoint on how it will be benefit travelers, because it's not a whole new gadget, just a nice and shiny upgrade with only positive additions, as far as we can tell. And it's not just because it's gotten slimmer and more "high-end," to borrow a term from Engadget. This is a phone that's quickly evolving into a tool for both hardcore business travelers and casual globetrotters.

Oh, China—what a country of contradictions. You can't log in to your Facebook profile, post to Twitter or check-in on Foursquare at Tiananmen Square, but you can buy an iPhone 4G, months ahead of its actual Apple release. That is, if you're comfortable buying a knock-off, as it goes in China.

The new Apple 4G iPhone hasn't even been officially announced yet, but the advance and detailed images by Gizmodo of the one lost by an Apple developer and found in the California bar make fakes possible this early on. The Chinese look-a-likes are however going for more than just cosmetic mimicry, but also attempting to include features of the coming Apple 4G, including a "front-facing camera, a TV antenna, mini USB interface, and camera flash," according to Mac Rumors.
