Cruise Down Collins with Miami's First 'Hertz On Demand' Car Sharing Program
There’s no longer the need to walk from Fontainebleau all the way down to Shake Shack—trust us, it’s far—as car sharing is now making its way to South Beach. Sure there are plenty of two-wheeled options available in Miami, but sometimes you just need to put the pedal to the metal. After all, cruising down Collins isn’t quite the same with streamers coming out of the handlebars.
There’s no cutesy name or gimmick associated with the city’s new program, as they’re simply partnering with Hertz to bring the car share scheme to the masses. Thanks to Hertz on Demand, Miami Beach will now be the first city—at least by their math—to offer up a city-sponsored car sharing system in the Sunshine State. Things officially get underway starting today, and there’s even some kind of ribbon cutting ceremony at the Miami Beach City Hall Garage to celebrate.

Hertz Brings the Best (and Most Expensive) Rental Cars to the UK
We’re all about awesome rental cars, but the latest offerings from Hertz might just be the best ones for a reasonable amount of money. We’ve talked about the company’s “Adrenaline Collection” line of vehicles, but these are a step above—like a six-figure step above in some cases.
Hertz Supercars will be glad to meet you at the airport with a vehicle from its stables, and some of the options include marques that you’ve only dreamt about. Options from Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ferrari—and even McLaren—are all available for the taking, but obviously you’re going to need some serious coin to pick up one of these vehicles. Oh—you also need to reside over in the UK, as this is exclusively an English option for the immediate future.

Spain Gets All the Cool Stuff, Like Hertz's Rental Electric Bicycles
This seems crazy, but leave it to Hertz to figure out more ways to rent things that move to travelers when they just don't need cars. We're talking about electric bicycles, which have now entered Hertz's rental fleets in London andthe newestall over Spain, including Granada, Almería, Alicante, Valencia, Pontevedra, Álava and Barcelona. Even the islands of Mallorca and Formentera haven't been left out; Hertz has brought their nine different types of Swiss Flyer electric bikes off the mainland.
We'd probably most likely use these on an island; it's already on our to-do list now for Palma.

Thanks to Hertz, Electric Car Sharing Arrives in San Francisco
We’ve got a soft spot for rental cars, and we’re especially fond of those that can do their thing without a drop of gas. That’s why we were excited to hear about Hertz and their latest plans to invade San Francisco with green types of rental transportation.
They’re using that new Hertz On Demand thing to offer up electric car rentals through a partnership with the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront. So if you need to take a quick spin to watch some airplanes or head into the city for business, the people at Hertz and Marriott have you covered.

Hertz Reboots Its Car Sharing with 'Hertz on Demand'
Connect by Hertz has been kicking around for a few years now, as it’s the rental car giant’s answer to the ubiquitous Zipcar. Entering the car sharing business a little behind the curve must have been a little difficult—even for a company like Hertz—so it’s time to reboot things in order to move forward. On the way out is Connect by Hertz, as from now on if you’re thinking car sharing and Hertz you should be thinking about Hertz on Demand.
They mean business now, as the born again service is looking to reduce costs, improve member benefits, and fire up all kinds of technology both in and out of the car. Of course they’re also boosting their amount of vehicles—including plenty of hybrids, electric vehicles, and cuties like the Fiat 500—along with locations, as you really can’t do too well if you don’t have plenty of cars and plenty of spots to grab them.

Rental Race Cars May Soon Zoom to a Rental Car Counter Near You
We knew that Hertz had some awesome rental car options, but it looks like they could be upping the ante even more in the near future. Back in the olden days—like in the 1960s—Hertz partnered up with Ford to rent out some pretty speedy Mustangs to those needing a weekend speed fix. They brought back the rent-a-racer program a few years ago—complete with a Hertz gold strip down the middle—and now they might be doing it once again.
It seems that the folks over at Shelby American—they’re the ones that upgrade the Mustangs way more than just adding shiny wheels—are interested in making some kind of special edition rental car available to the public. The rumor is that they’ll be using some new Mustang GTs with over 400 horsepower, but unfortunately—or fortunately for those who haven’t mastered the third pedal—it will feature a rental-friendly automatic transmission.

No Sweat in the City If You Rent an Electric Bike from Hertz London
We know that there's plenty of spots to score a rental bike, rental car, or electric rental car, but there really haven't been too many options when it comes to finding and borrowing an electric rental bike. Hertz is about to change that, as they're moving from providing four-wheeled transportation options to two-wheeled as well.
In response to London's mission to turn the city into one of the leading electric vehicle destinations in the world, Hertz has begun to offer up some electric bikes for one and all from their Marble Arch branch in the city. Just £20 will get you access to a bike for the whole day, and not having to pedal your way around the city will probably be quite handy during the warm summer months.

Hertz Adds More Electric Excitement with the Tesla Roadster
Hertz is trying to appeal to more than just business travelers, as they’re bringing a new animated mascot to television and print advertisements in the hope that a little yellow cartoon guy—Horatio is his name—can bring them a little more cash. Oh, and if the voice of this new character sounds familiar, that’s because Owen Wilson is the star behind it.
What’s a little more interesting than the new Hertz spokesperson is one of the new cars that Hertz is now offering. Not too long ago we shared some of their cars that are actually worth renting and now, if you have some extra dough, this week brings another stunner into the rental car fleet: the Tesla.

Surprise, Surprise. Hertz Actually Rents Some Cool Cars
You don't think cool cars when you think about rentals, do you? Nopeunless, that is, you're renting from an agency that deals only in exotic cars, and brands each rental an "experience." Well, if you'd rather just make it easy and get a sweet ride from a company you already know (and who gives frequent flyer miles), Hertz has just introduced their "Adrenaline Collection," a line of "high performance muscle cars with designs and colors reminiscent of classic muscle cars."
Of course the rentals will cost more than, say, a PT Cruiser, but you'll be behind the wheel of a Dodge Challenger, Chevy Camaro SS or Ford Mustang GT Premium. If you need to compromise with your family or partner, Hertz also has a "Fun Collection," with a Mustang Convertible, Corvette Convertible and Jeep Wrangler, in addition to the Camaros and regular Mustangs.

Road Trip! $5 Hertz Rentals with Unlimited Miles Out of Florida
It’s that time of year again, as rental car companies need your help to get their cars anywhere but Florida. We’ve seen this before, so expect the deals to start flowing now that the spring weather is just around the corner.
Avis has a deal where you can take a car from the Sunshine State for $20 a day, but your return is somewhat limited as it needs to be dropped off somewhere in the Southeast portion of the country. Both Carolinas, as well as Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi are all options between April and June. Budget has a pretty similar deal for $20 per day, and you’re free to pick your choice of car including an SUV.

Hertz Will Match Any Rental Car Rate All This Month
Hertz doesn’t want to play second fiddle to any other rental car company, so this month they're offering up the Hertz Ultimate Experience Challenge. They’re hoping that you’ll ditch your preferred rental car company once you see the true awesomeness that is Hertz. Even though OJ loves Hertz, we’ve had some Toyota Corolla duds, but we’ll still give them a second chance.
In order to prove that they are the best rental car company in town they’ll gladly match any competitor’s rate. No big deal, right? Well, the cool part is that you don’t need to do anything in advance. Just bring your existing rental reservation right to the Hertz counter and they will match whatever rate you were able to score with Avis, National, Budget, or pretty much any other company.
