Delta, Aegean Airlines and United Debut a Slew of New Routes
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· Delta:
It’s the season for new routes that aren’t really new routes, as carriers are bringing planes out of the attic and sending them into the skies to restart seasonal options. This week Delta was the carrier dusting things off, as they just resumed their nonstop service between Shannon Airport over in Ireland and New York’s JFK International Airport.
Things began on May 11, and the plan is for things to head back and forth throughout the summer season. Boeing 757s will be doing the flying fun, and it’ll be a daily option. The flight might be a little less busy than some other transatlantic routes, so check it out if you have some frequent flyer miles to burn this summer.
· United:
One of the airport’s in Puerto Rico is getting a little bit busier, as United is getting ready to bring in some more of their planes. New nonstop flights will be heading between Chicago-O’Hare and Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico beginning on November 5.
Boeing 737-900s will be doing the heavy lifting on this route, and first class, economy plus, and economy will all be seating options. Now all you have to do is just find a beach, an umbrella drink, and get ready to relax.

New Routes Galore from Hawaiian Airlines, US Airways, and Qatar Airways
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· Hawaiian Airlines:
We can never get enough of Hawaii, so it’s good that Hawaiian Airlines is busy adding more flights between the islands and the mainland. This time it looks like Portland, Oregon is the carrier’s focus, as Hawaiian Airlines is sending some of their new Airbus A330s back and forth between Portland and Honolulu. Demand for the flights must be up, as they’re now getting ready to start things a little sooner than initially planned. It’s roughly three weeks early, as things should now take to the skies beginning on April 20. In case you’re interested in booking something for you and your crew, the flights depart Portland at around 10am and arrive into Hawaii around 1pm—all times local.
· Qatar Airways:
It might not be the vacation destination of 2013, but this year has certainly seen a boost in service when it comes to flight in and out of Iraq. This week it looks like Qatar Airways is planning service over to the country, and they should begin as soon as this summer. As it stands now the plan is to fly between Doha—that’s in Qatar—and Basra—that’s in Iraq—beginning on June 3. After that there will also be some flights over to Sulaymaniyah beginning on August 20. The flights will run four times per week once they start up, so there’s plenty of options from which to choose.

It's United, Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Leading This Week's New Route News
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· United:
At this point you’re probably well aware of some of the issues that the Boeing 787 has been experiencing. As a result, new flights, new routes, and other in-flight improvements have been delayed. Now it looks like United is grounding its planes to at least June, but there’s one route that is suffering a little bit less.
Assuming they fix those pesky batteries sooner rather than later, it sounds like the nonstop option between Denver and Tokyo will takeoff on May 12. Initially it was scheduled to start doing its thing at the end of March, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed that May is when it finally hits the skies.
· Delta:
For travelers looking to hit in big during North Dakota’s oil boom, Delta has you covered as they’re getting ready to boost their service over to the Roughrider State. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale tomorrow. Delta is planning to fly nonstop between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Dickinson.
The flights will begin on June 10, and they’ll do their thing two times per day. Sure there’s money to be made in western North Dakota, but just don’t expect anything too comfortable on these flights. The back and forth flying will be done thanks to SkyWest and some less than comfy commuter jets.

Boeing's 787 Dreamliner: Who's Got It and Who Desperately Wants It
As we type this very sentence, Air India flies at cruising altitude on the long journey that will take their first Boeing 787 Dreamliner all the way from South Carolina to New Delhi.
And yet it seems like only yesterday we were perched atop the Future of Flight Center in Everett, WA, in the early morning cold and mist, as the absolute very first Dreamliner was delivered, to Japanese carrier ANA. In fairness it's been a solid year since then and while five airlines now boast Boeing 787s in their fleets, there's a whole slew more champing at the bit to get their mitts on the sleek plane.
Let's review who's got it and who wants it, shall we?

It's Allegiant, Frontier and Southwest Leading This Week's New Route News
Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.
· Southwest:
If you’re someone who just is in LUV with Southwest Airlines, then we have some good news for you. The carrier is prepping its planes to launch a new nonstop option between Washington-National and St. Louis beginning on September 30.
The new flights will do their thing a couple times per week, so things are probably a little better for leisure rather than business travelers. Also—just in case we didn’t mention it earlier—Southwest is also planning to link St. Louis with spots like New York-LaGuardia and San Antonio as soon as this weekend.
· Frontier:
We haven’t heard from Frontier Airlines lately, but that’s fine as they are filling us up with some new routes news this week. Beginning in November, the furry-tailed carrier is starting nonstop service between Trenton, New Jersey and Greensboro, North Carolina down to Orlando.
It’ll be twice weekly for the New Jersey flights, and three times per week for those looking to hitch a ride back and forth between North Carolina. If these sound good to you there’s some decent fares available to welcome the new options. For the next couple days or so one-way fares are around $59 or $69 depending on the city you need to visit.
