Donald Trump's Newest Enemy is a Scottish Windfarm. Yes, Really.

January 30, 2012 at 9:25 AM | by | Comments (0)

Donald Trump is in the business of making money. Let's get that straight first and foremost. Therefore, it should come as no surprise to anyone that Trump is now calling a proposed green energy windfarm a "disastrous and environmentally irresponsible" development...all because it's nearby his picturesque Menie estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

The lengthy details of the fight against the building of the offshore windfarm—read more here from Deadline News—of course don't directly name the Trump golf course as the reason for Trump's opposition. For him, says Sorial of the Trump Organization, it's all about the greater effect on local tourism: "People come from all over the world to play courses that are unique to Scotland. They don’t want to look down on electrical turbines." Um. Need we refresh his memory that when the Earth faces a serious energy crisis, nobody's going to give a gosh-darn about the view from his precious golf course?

Go Inside Trump International Hotel, the Inspiration and Set for 'Tower Heist'

November 4, 2011 at 1:34 PM | by | Comment (1)

Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck and Alan Alda hit the big screen today in Tower Heist, about employees at a luxury residence tower in NYC, owned by a Madoffesque kingpin, who decide to steal $20 million dollars from their boss after finding out he embezzled their pension funds.

The building in the movie is based on the Trump International Hotel and Tower, located at One Central Park West in New York City. They even filmed most of the movie's exterior shots at Trump Tower, including one of the movie's biggest scenes which takes place during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Gold Seat Belts and Sinks? It's Got to Be Donald Trump's New Boeing 757

August 30, 2011 at 9:45 AM | by | Comment (1)

It's been almost five months since we last talked about Donald Trump's new private jet, and that—dear friends—is about 4 months and 29 days too long.

Back in April, The Donald took delivery of his specially outfitted Boeing 757, meanwhile putting his old 727 up for sale. His new toy is a $100 million work of art, but it's not just off the assembly line; this 757 formerly belonged to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.

Enough of history—let's talk about right now. Donald's 757 seats/beds 43 passengers and boasts a 16-hour range, but duh we just want to see the master bedroom and all the gold-plated sinks in the thing. That's where the video tour comes in:

Now That He's Got a 757, Who Wants to Buy Donald Trump's Old 727?

April 27, 2011 at 10:12 AM | by | Comments (0)

This is Trump's old 727. See link below for a pic of the 757

Donald Trump won't be on the set of Celebrity Apprentice or even at New York's Trump Tower today; he's off in New Hampshire meeting with the GOP regarding his pet idea to run for president on the Republican ticket. According to PBS, Trump's transportation of choice to Portsmouth was a helicopter—

What he's flying is really the only topic we really care about when it comes to Trump, especially since the last month has seen him upgrade from his Boeing 727 to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's old Boeing 757. The Donald paid $100 million for the used plane, a sum which the Magellan Jets Blog calls "extremely high," but counters that it's believed Allen's 757 comes fully loaded with "all kinds of bells and whistles, ranging from a state-of-the-art entertainment system to the most advance flight avionics."

Donald Trump Busts Out a Lawsuit Against Palm Beach Airport

July 26, 2010 at 10:47 AM | by | Comments (0)

We love airports, but we realize that they can be pretty darn noisy both inside and out. Although checking out all the different planes would be appealing, we do recognize that the airport wouldn’t be an ideal location if we owned a mega mansion. Donald Trump is facing this very problem, and that’s why he is getting all legal on Palm Beach International Airport.

The Donald feels that the airport makes too much noise, and all those pesky airplanes are causing too much of a disturbance above his home at Mar-a-Lago. The best way to deal with the situation is obviously to file a lawsuit, and that’s exactly what he’s doing.

Donald Trump Gets a Double Decker Tourist Bus of His Very Own

June 8, 2010 at 3:22 PM | by | Comments (0)

Not the most flattering photo of Trump

So now that his show Celebrity Apprentice has wrapped up another season, with Bret Michaels as winner, what is Donald Trump doing with his free time? Apparently, he's off riding double-decker tour buses around New York City.

Today, Gray Line, which operates those big red topless tourist buses around major world cities, dedicated one of their buses to The Donald. Trump, in his usual style, showed up with a hottie on his arm (Miss USA Rima Fakih) and smiled pretty for all the photographs.

New Yorkers may notice one of the Gray Line buses driving around the city bearing his face on the front, as this whole deal is part of a new Gray Line series called "Ride of Fame." Expect more famous locals to grace the red fenders in the future, but for now, we'll have to settle for The Donald's smug mug.

Donald Trump's Tacky-Fabulous Private Jet Is Up For Sale

January 26, 2010 at 8:30 AM | by | Comments (0)

If you’re in the market for a used airplane we’ve found a pretty good one for you. Donald Trump is getting rid of his old Boeing 727, and it’s up for sale to anyone with some serious cash. We’ve seen the plane parked at LaGuardia before, and it’s always made us a little jealous, so we won’t be sad to see it go.

Unfortunately, if you have to ask how much it is, you can’t afford it. The price listed on the Leader Aviation website is the dreaded “call for pricing.” If you somehow score financing you’ll be able to bring all your friends along as there’s room for 24 passengers. If you need some private time, check out the master bedroom, designed for VIPs to escape from the ruckus in the main cabin. There are also some totally ridiculous features like plenty of storage for fine china and a gold plated sink.

Five Ways To Experience Chicago's Trump International Hotel & Tower

October 5, 2009 at 5:38 PM | by | Comments (0)

In January 2010, Chicago's Trump International Hotel & Tower will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its completion. We're talking the whole thing here—including the towering antenna which was placed on January 2, 2009, even though the restaurant and hotel had been open previously.

So how do you celebrate one of the country's newest, hottest skyscrapers? Well, you should swing by the Donald's towering siren and have a drink of course, or better yet—sleep with her. The Trump Tower is part hotel, part condo, and part upscale hotspot, and there are five specific ways to get all up in her without feeling like you're trespassing on Trump's property.

Trouble over Trump Burj Knockoff

May 21, 2008 at 3:45 PM | by | Comments (0)

The developers of the Trump Ocean Club in Panama City just obtained a protective order against Dubai's Jumeirah Group from a Panamanian court. The Ocean Clubbers say they've faced "veiled threats of legal action" from the Middle Eastern luxury hotel chain because Jumeirah feels that Trump's new $220 million tower copies the design of their flagship Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

The Trump Ocean Club, pictured at right, does look a lot like the Burj, at left, but you'd think Jumeirah would be flattered. The Burj Al Arab's sail-style construction has been described by critics as the "pinnacle of tackiness," so it's no surprise that Trump would admire the design. Besides, it's not like the Trump folks copied the Burj's amazing rooftop tennis court.

Jumeirah hasn't tried to sue yet, and we doubt they actually will: This whole thing smells like a Trump publicity stunt. Selling your place as a Burj knockoff is probably a lot easier than getting mega-rich tourists excited about Panama City.

Miss USA to Stay in NYC

December 20, 2006 at 8:55 AM | by | Comments (0)

If you read yesterday's guide to ice skating in New York, you noticed a note at the end about Miss USA. It turns out that she WILL be holding onto her title, so long as she enters rehab and steps carefully from here on out And that's the truth, because it came straight from the Donald's mouth. He'd never miss an opportunity for a press conference.

So Tara Conner and her boobs will continue to live in Trump Place on the Upper West Side, perhaps with a 24-hour chaperone now. But how will she cap off her workdays now that she can't be seen in the clubs? We have a few recommendations.

She could head for dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park, where a "water sommelier" helps diners pair bottled H2O with their meals. At least it sort of recalls the wino experience. She could go to Dylan's Candy Bar for hot chocolate and root beer-flavored gummy candy, or seek out an oxygen bar. And if all else fails, she can nurse her phantom hangovers with a gooey breakfast from Kitchenette--a bit of a hike from her Trump digs (at least first thing in the morning), but worth it. Good luck, Tara!
