Britney Spears Catches a Ride on AA's Hot Pink Golf Cart

January 31, 2011 at 2:01 PM | by | Comments (0)

Britney Spears took a break from working on her new album to take a ride on American Airlines' hot pink “Premium Services” golf cart through Miami International Airport yesterday.

Presumably, the cart is the same one Fergie rode last fall after arriving on an American flight from Los Angeles. This little cart really gets around, huh? You know you've made it when this thing shows up at your plane's door.

Spears and her boyfriend Jason Trawick were in the airport to catch a flight back to LAX after standing up in her assistant's wedding on Saturday. We're guessing Britney felt obligated to drag her bridesmaid dress back to L.A., hence the huge garment bag. If she's anything like us, that dress will still be in a garment bag in the back of her closet ten years from now.

Britney Spears Is A Virgin Girl For Her Australia Tour

Where: Australia
November 9, 2009 at 9:14 AM | by | Comments (0)

Boy oh boy, it's been awhile since Britney Spears did anything notable, let alone something travel-related, but last week she flew right back onto the scene and it was on a V Australia plane. BritBrit is currently playing to somewhat sold-out crowds around Australia on the Down Under portion of her "Circus" tour, and V Australia was chosen as the official airline partner of the tour.

What does that mean? Well, first it meant that Britney and all of her dancers, band, set designers, tech people and assorted crew headed to Oz on a V Australia plane on November 3. About that flight, Britney tweeted: "Longest flight ever but we had a great time. Really cool plane and the V staff took great care of us. So excited to be here!" She wrapped up the first concerts in Perth over the weekend, and now she'll be flying on Virgin Blue to upcoming dates in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.

Who Will Save Our Celebrities From The Toxic Power Of Twitter?

August 27, 2009 at 8:40 AM | by | Comments (0)

Finally using her Twitter account for good, this week Britney Spears handed out tickets to her shows at Madison Square Garden in New York to a lucky fan via tweeted clues.

Is Spears playfully engaging with a new medium, or playing a dangerous game? Spears or her handlers left a series of clues for followers to parse about the place she was, like "Manhattan," and "below 60th Street and above 20th Street." The clues apparently led to the Times Square M&M store, just when you thought it was going to be something original and local-approved -- but anyway!

Britney Spears' Circus May Leave Town Sooner Than Planned

April 16, 2009 at 9:11 AM | by | Comments (0)

Only elephants work for peanuts: Britney Spears' long-awaited comeback tour likely won't get the worldwide extension promoters were looking for due to, you guessed it, the bad economy.

Spears set off March 3 from New Orleans on a 49-stop tour that included Canada and London, and producers were hoping the continual cloud of drama which separates Brit from the rest of us would part long enough to later add on dates in Europe and Asia and perhaps another round of shows in the U.S.

And despite rumors of a reunion with Kevin Federline and a summons to testify against one of her former hangers-on in a lawsuit brought by her dad, Spears was holding up her end of the deal. The girl just can't catch a break!

While promoters are mum on whether any of the existing shows will be canceled, it's always a possibility, so keep reading superlative sites like this one to keep abreast of the news. Ticketmaster is handling all the sales, but their cancellation policy is actually quite decent -- though you'll have to mail your would-be treasures back in in the event of a canceled show. The last time this happened to us, though, we got our refund in about three weeks.

Jennifer Aniston And Five Other Stars Say 'Nay' To Naycations

March 5, 2009 at 9:06 AM | by | Comments (0)

So news broke this week that Jennifer Aniston allegedly got a $56,000 haircut before heading off on her latest promotional jaunt as her adorable-dog movie "Marley and Me" debuts in Europe. Well, it wasn't just a haircut; that included plane tickets and other travel arrangements for her stylist as well as daily do's. Celebrities! They so crazy!

Well, with all due respect, Aniston isn't getting bailed out by the federal government to keep her tresses shipshape. It's her money and she might as well blow it on something that keeps her happy. Plus, she's helping the travel industry, one stylist at a time. Who else is saving travel as we know it one flight at a time? Check our gallery to find out.

Only 44 More Opportunities to See The Britney Spears 'Circus'

Where: 1501 Girod Street [map], New Orleans, LA, United States
March 4, 2009 at 9:26 AM | by | Comments (2)

Everyone's favorite trainwreck on a comeback opened her world tour last night near her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. It may not be the kind of "Circus" that you can take a kid to to see jugglers and elephants, although Britney Spears threw in some clowns with nunchucks and acrobats in case anyone in the audience was looking for that.

Should you brave the slings and arrows of the World of Spears? We haven't been yet, but the reviews are filled with faint praise and pats on the back for Brit to have emerged after her five-year hiatus from touring.

With so much travel news raining down on us, we don't always have time to give every story its own forecast. Here's more of the day's news, in brief.

· Gridiron Stars Missing After Boating Trip: The tragic news continues in 2009 with the reports that two NFL players are missing after their boat failed to return from a fishing trip. The Coast Guard is still looking for Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper and NFL free agent Corey Smith along with one other passenger. A fourth passenger was found clinging to the boat this morning. [NY Times]

· Dr. Seuss' Birthday: It's Dr. Seuss' birthday today and around America today libraries are hosting Dr. Seuss reading events to honor what would have been his 105th birthday. Remember we want to hear about the "places you'll go."[Wikipedia]

· Bad Day for Southwest?: Southwest was ordered by the FAA to pay $7.5 million on safety fines and now some IT experts are saying the Conficker worm is expected to hit the Southwest website. [Dark Reading]

The Restaurant Where Britney and Justin Met Monday Night?

Where: 8535 W. Sunset Blvd. [map], West Hollywood, CA, United States

This town ain't big enough for the both of them: Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake got way more than they ordered when they both found themselves at Yatai Asian Tapas Bar in West Hollywood for late dinners on Monday.

Timberlake was having dinner with his current sweetheart Jessica Biel around 10 pm when his former flame arrived--with her mom! That's gotta hurt. US Magazine's all-important anonymous witness said Justin and Jessica avoided the Spears party, who stayed about 30 minutes and then left.

Yatai, the Japanese word for street food stands serving ramen, dumplings and assorted fried meats, is to be distinguished from yattai!, an exclamation meaning "All right!" or "We did it!" popularized by this video.

Britney Takes "Circus" Circus To Japan

Where: Los Angeles, CA
December 12, 2008 at 8:45 AM | by | Comments (0)

Britney Spears continued the Everything's Fine Over Here world tour at LAX, where she will be promoting her new, Billboard 200-topping album "Circus."

With two singles in the American Top 10, a Glamour cover and the tabloid endorsement of ex-husband Kevin Federline, Britney has either completely cleaned up her act or is well set up for another roller-coaster year in 2009. We think as long as she doesn't start befriending the paparazzi again, she'll have many fruitful trips next year.

Britney Spears Is On A Mission

Where: New York, NY
December 3, 2008 at 8:45 AM | by | Comments (0)

Hey, did you hear? Yesterday was Britney Spears' 27th birthday? We don't know how you could have avoided it given the popstar managed to infiltrate practically every medium in what one might call a manic quest to prove the absence of mania.

Spears performed on a circus-themed set on "Good Morning America" yesterday morning, then got gussied up to tape her appearance at the Rockefeller Center annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Later that night, it was off to fading megaclub Tenjune for her birthday party to celebrate with Heidi Klum and Lance Bass. It was just like the old Britney, but 100 percent less headshaving.

Britney's Working Holiday

December 1, 2008 at 8:45 AM | by | Comments (0)

For Britney Spears, this weekend brought all work and no play. While her documentary "For The Record" was showing in the US, Spears performed on Britain's popular TV show "X Factor" (creators of Leona Lewis) and at the Bambi Awards where she was given the Best International Pop Star award.

So what were our other favorite stars up to this weekend? The Cruises and Beckhams took New York together even though Katie Holmes had to work all weekend--er, perform in "All My Sons." Miley Cyrus hit the Big Apple as well, although we hope she's not moving here! Divorced stars Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon broke bread together with their kids for the holiday, while Alex Rodriguez left his kids in New York while he took in a Madonna concert in Miami. Demi, Ashton and Bruce also celebrated together, and we know they're all friends, but that's kind of creepy.

Will Smith took his crew to Hawaii and Michael Phelps took his new girlfriend, a waitress in Vegas, home to Maryland to meet Mom. And Eva Longoria set tongues wagging when she attended a wedding by herself. Have we all had enough vacation yet?

Shake It Like A Paparazzi Picture

There are plenty of things that get the "only in Hollywood" tag, but new LA milkshake shop Millions of Mikshakes really couldn't exist anywhere else.

Here's what happened: A London-born entrepreneur named Sheeraz Hasan moved to LA and lived out the modern American dream, getting rich off of celeb-stalking projects like Tinseltown TV and Hollywood.tv. But it turns out that all Hasan ever really wanted to do was make milkshakes.

So he opens up MoM, names his creamy creations for tabloid celebs--and then has said celebs (or sometimes, just celeb impersonators) come by to try out their namesakes, creating a media frenzy around the shop and making Hasan more millions.
