We had the chance to fly with SWISS Airlines from Zurich to Montreal in Business Class not so long ago and all we can say is that we wanna do it again.
Aside from the tasty food and good service, their new international biz class seat has it all going on. Done in a stylish grey tartan and light wood, it’s a generous size for generous hips, becomes a 6’7” lie-flat bed and has a spot to plug in your electronic gadgets. We liked the fact that each seat has a large side table that not only gives you separation from your neighbor, but can hold all of your books, mags, water, wine, headphones and No Jet-Lag tablets (we do like to spread out!). If you’re traveling solo, have a good look at the seating chart when you’re selecting your seat: Some of the single window ones have not one, but two tables per seat. You’ll feel like you’re King (or Queen) of the Universe.
Besides the expected array of movies and music that is part of the in-flight entertainment system is the unexpected ability to use the screen to view your own stuff from your cell or iPad. The system is controlled by a convenient handset that you can, as well, leave handy on that large side table.

We have all had a terrible meal on a flight before. In fact, we have shown you some of the sadder trays slid in front of us. With this new series of amazing airline meals, we can revel in the airline culinary delights and give kudos to the airlines that got it right.
When traveling on a SWISS Airlines business class flight from Zurich to Montreal recently we were presented with the airline’s SWISS Taste of Switzerland menu which proved to be, this writer’s, Best. Airline. Meal. Ever.
Some of Switzerland’s top chefs, usually from one of the country’s swank hotels, are invited to show off their culinary skills and represent their region’s cuisine in the Taste of Switzerland program. During our flight, Michelin-starred chef Dominique Gauthier from the luxe Hotel Beau-Rivage stepped up to the plate for the canton of Geneva.
It's official: one of the worst airport experiences is simply dealing with security lines. Up in Canada, however, they're looking to alleviate the frustration, as one airport just introduced a timed reservation system for the security check.
All the good stuff is happing at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International, and the new system sounds quite easy to use. Basically, you head over to the airport website, enter your flight number and contact details, and you’ll get a text message confirming a reserved time for a specific security checkpoint. Then it’s all on you to show up during the assigned time, and use that text message like a ticket for access to the SecurXpress priority line.
After flying into MCO--an airport that won't likely see another A380 anytime soon--the super-jumbo is headed back to France after a stop in Montreal. But don't despair, Minnesota! Your date with the Airbus starts the night of October 26 and goes until the next morning. Just remember: No fooling around!
