Jetblue Releases All-You-Can-Jet Passes for $699, $499

August 17, 2010 at 8:21 AM | by | Comment (1)

Omg omg. They promised they'd do it again, and they are! We're hyperventilating over here at Jaunted HQ as Jetblue has just announced the second All-You-Can-Jet Pass. This sweet ticket, available for purchase now and only valid for flights between September 7 and October 6, comes in two plans: the AYCJ-7 for $699 and gets you onboard any Jetblue flight within that time period, seven days a week, or the AYCJ-5 for $499, which gets you onboard any Jetblue flight from Sunday-Thursday (no Friday & Sunday flying).

The original pass, announced almost exactly a year ago this time (so technically, we should've been expecting this), was only $599, but this year's two-plan option offers greater budget flexibility even as it takes away schedule flexibility. Whatever it takes to get you out there and flying around!

This is the Future! Oman Air Successfully Starts Long-Haul In-Flight WiFi

March 5, 2010 at 9:35 AM | by | Comments (0)

Happy Friday! Oman Air is officially the first airline to get long-haul in-flight WiFi up and running on one of its planes (Lufthansa's abandoned FlyNet of years ago doesn't really count).

Oman Air, which is already known for having some of the poshest airplane bathrooms, has just added to their in-flight amenities with all sorts of fun connectivity. The excellent announcements comes after a successful first flight with the WiFi onboard an Airbus A330 between Muscat and London-Heathrow. It might not be a super long-haul, 13+hour flight, but it's better than nothing.

The service is from OnAir, a company that hasn't worked to supply any US carrier with in-flight WiFi, although maybe they should think about it. Plus, the WiFi is joined by Oman Air's GSM/GPRS abilty, which allows passengers with the proper GSM/GPRS phones to make phone calls and even text message from 35,000 feet up. SWEEET.

Jetblue Is Giving Away A Year Of Free Travel With An All-You-Can-Jet Pass

December 14, 2009 at 12:05 PM | by | Comments (0)

While we patiently await the return of the promised All-you-Can-Jet Pass for 2010, there's already a way you can get a jumpstart on the unlimited travel action by becoming a fan of Jetblue on Facebook.

Mashable points out that although Jetblue has an impressive Twitter follower crowd of over 1.5 million, their Facebook numbers are sad at 73,000. To fix this, the airline has launched a Facebook-only sweepstakes, whereby you become their fan and enter for a chance to win free flights, free vacations, or an All-You-Can-Jet Pass for one year. One year? That's quite a bit different from their one month offering with the original AYCJ pass. Will the one year pass be an option for 2010?

Jetblue Will Bring Back Successful 'All-You-Can-Jet' Pass Next Year

December 3, 2009 at 9:28 AM | by | Comments (0)

Roll up your sleeping mat and begin hoarding the snack-size bags of chex mix—Jetblue has kind of announced that a second wave of the now infamous All-You-Can-Jet Pass is coming in the future.

Yesterday, during the Jetblue corporate retreat at West Point, a few veteran AYCJers were invited to talk about their experiences using the pass, which got them all the Jetblue flights they could handle between September 8 and October 8 for only $599 (plus some international taxes, if you flew out of country). Although it seems like just yesterday that the pass ended and the #AYCJ tweets petered out on Twitter, Jetblue execs are already prepping for the remix by promising a free, second AYCJ pass to these seven founding All-You-Can-Jetters.

Jetblue's All-You-Can-Jet Pass Ends Today, But The Tweets Will Last A Lifetime

October 8, 2009 at 9:33 AM | by | Comments (0)

There were the good times and there were the bad, but most of all, there were the sleep-deprived times; today marks the end of the first-ever All-You-Can-Jet Pass from Jetblue. After today, the mini-population of AYCJers who've been residing in the skies this past month will return to solid ground, and to their own beds, although they may still dream for days that they're sleeping behind a departures board.

There's no doubt that Jetblue's $599 pass was a resounding success, earning them millions of dollars in publicity while they filled seats on flights that would have otherwise gone empty. Wired's Terminal Man was just one of the AYCJers who became a Jetblue ambassador by default, as everyone from NBC to local news stations to Wired readers came to visit him during layovers. We even find ourselves looking forward to reading the tweets of AYCJers, and now have to break our addiction to this, some of the best and most humorous twittering out there.

Azul Announces $285 All-You-Can-Jet Pass For Brazil

Where: Brazil
October 7, 2009 at 8:38 AM | by | Comments (0)

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is the final day that Jetblue's All-You-Can-Jet Pass is valid. While the AYCJers return to solid ground after tomorrow, they now have a new option for extending the fun, if they're willing to very adventurous. David Neeleman, who originally formed Jetblue and now has his own LCC based in Brazil, is inspired by the AYCJ Jetblue model, and has announced the Passaporte Azul from Azul.

Do you know how genius the All-You-Can-Jet Pass was? Well, the Passaporte Azul is possibly even more genius: for 499 BRL ($285), you can fly Azul's route map just as freely as you did Jetblue's, only this time you'll be hopping through a country wholly excited by Rio's Olympic win and full of cheap and vibrant places to discover.

More details, after the jump.

Jetblue's All-You-Can-Jet-Pass Starts Today; Follow Along With These Travelers

September 8, 2009 at 11:24 AM | by | Comment (1)

Today is the day we have been waiting for since Jetblue announced in mid-August that they'd be selling an "All-You-Can-Jet" Pass for $599 for one month of unlimited travel on their routes; it's the first day of the thirty valid for travel on the pass. Somebody break out the bugle and play "Reveille" please so these jetters have a proper send-off?

Since the pass started selling like hotcakes, we've watched Facebook groups, Twitters and various other social media networks pop up to rally around those taking part in it. They are the AYCJ-ers, and their adventures begin now.

To follow the spontaneous folks—including one guy who refuses to leave the airports during his thirty day of non-stop travel—we've compiled a list of All-You-Can-Jet groups to follow:

Jetblue's All-You-Can-Jet Pass As Social Media Movement

August 20, 2009 at 9:29 AM | by | Comments (5)

Did you snag one of the much-coveted All-You-Can-Jet Passes from Jetblue? If you did, congratulations and we want to hear all about it once you begin traveling in a few weeks. If you didn't, sorry but it's too late since Jetblue says that demand was way higher than they ever hoped, and therefore they ended sales of the pass early, closing it yesterday instead of August 21.

Ever since the pass was announced on August 12, the country (and aviation fiends like ourselves) have gone crazy over it, mapping dream routes in our heads and attempting to justify taking a month off of work. Some are actually doing it, like Seth Miller, an IT consultant whom Time describes as an "aerophile." He's mainly interested in the actual flying and airport visiting, and so, during one weekend, he'll fly from "New York to Ponce, Puerto Rico back to New York to Las Vegas to Long Beach, Calif. to Portland, Ore. back to Long Beach to Chicago to New York to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and back to New York one last time."

Jetblue Releases All-You-Can-Jet Pass For $599

August 12, 2009 at 12:41 PM | by | Comments (5)

We are hyperventilating over here at Jaunted HQ as Jetblue has just announced the creation of an All-You-Can-Jet Pass. This sweet ticket, available for purchase now through August 21 and only valid between September 8 and October 8, costs only $599 and gets you onboard any Jetblue flight within that time period.

Of course awesomeness such as this has some terms and conditions. While domestic taxes and fees are already included (score!), international and Puerto Rico ones aren't. Also, you've got to book each flight three days in advance (no waking up and deciding to go to LA for the day), and you can't pass it around between friends and family members—it's just for you.
