When you rule your high school with a combination of braininess and not-so-secret singing talent, TSA regulations are of no consequence! "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens rocked gladiator sandals and a giant bottle of water as she got off a plane at LAX recently.
Later, Hudgens boarded a private plane with "HSM3" costar and maybe-boyfriend Zac Efron for a Fourth of July getaway to Hawaii. They must be done filming the silver-screen sequel after stints in Utah and northern California--time for a mini-break!
OMG! Guess who popped up on "Idol Gives Back" last night? Our old "High School Musical" buddies Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, who sent their charitable best from--oh boy--the Utah set of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year."
We've already tracked the location of the fictional East High School, home of the Wildcats and Zac Efron's spray tan. It figures that the squeaky-clean Utah would be the site of Disney's mega-franchise. We're heading out there right now to get the chance to carry Lucas Grabeel's Uggs.
She'll join co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Liam Aiken ("Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events") for the film, which is shooting in Austin, Texas. Rumor has it that David Bowie might join the cast too.
Hudgens is looking good in this airport photo shoot, hauling a respectable amount of luggage. (Last time we saw her, she looked like a skycap.) We can't get behind the decision to wear a big clunky belt, but we bet those shoes slipped off easily.
Drew Barrymore presented an award to the cast of Juno at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday. Did you make it this year? Halle Berry took her pregnant self there to receive an award for "Things We Lost in the Fire." Zac Efron hit the red carpet along with "High School Musical" costar and possible girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, before joining his "Hairspray" costars for a sing-along screening of the movie musical.
Juno, this year's Little Indie That Could about a Minneapolis teen's unplanned pregnancy, finished third at the box office this weekend and picked up three Golden Globe nominations. Don't worry, we'll still cover next week's Golden Globes ceremony even if the stars don't attend--and even though our invite got lost in the mail.
If you don't know who Vanessa Hudgens is, congratulations! You're probably old enough to drive. But the "High School Musical" and "High School Musical 2" star is famous with teens and tweens everywhere. Too bad none of them were around yesterday as she flew out of Washington Dulles Airport, carrying everything and the kitchen sink (including her teddy bear).
If you missed her at the airport, you can catch Hudgens on the "High School Musical 2" DVD out today or performing in TNT's "Christmas in Washington" special alongside "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee and Ne-Yo.
