The Ice King: Richard Branson's Face to Grace Virgin Atlantic Ice Cubes
Whoa whoa whoa. Listen to this: Virgin Atlantic just announced that not only have they totally revamped the Upper Class seats and onboard bar, but travelers who belly up to said bar for a nightcap will be greeted by the smiling face of Richard Branson...as an ice cube.
We checked the calendar and it is not April Fool's Day. This is not a drill. Virgin Atlantic is actually going to serve ice cubes made from a mold of Sir Richard's head, sans guillotine. VS explains: "The mould for the ice cubes took a team of four skilled designers a painstaking six weeks to create using detailed photographic techniques and laser scanning technology to create the perfect likeness of Sir Richard."

Virgin Atlantic's Revamped Upper Class Bar is Crystal-Covered and Pretty Kinky
Look at the image above. Now scroll down and look at the image at the very bottom. Now glance back and forth and we dare you to tell us that the new, improved onboard Upper Class bars on Virgin Atlantic aren't crazy awesomer. Yeah, we said "awesomer." Things like this call for words like that.
Let's handle all this goodness bit by bit: yes, Virgin Atlantic has a bar onboard each of their planes. They're only for Upper Class passengers, however, but all the drinks are complimentary and a bartender will shake that Vesper Martini no problem. Yes, the revampment of Upper Class means the bar has been overhauled and now it looks like something torn from a Starship Enterprise-themed kink club or Tron's cut scenes, and we're more than cool with that.
Oh, and there will be Swarovski crystals. *cue the Marvin Gaye*

'Dream Suite' Indeed: All About Virgin Atlantic's Updated Upper Class
Hold up a moment while we hyperventilate. Virgin Atlantic just announced the details (and photos!) of their revamped Upper Class.
It feels like we've been waiting forever for the newsany news on the new seats, but it's actually only been since February that Virgin teased that the Upper Class was about to get a spruce-up. And they've managed to keep it all top secret...until now.

Breaking Down the Pros and Cons of Flying Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic

UPDATE: We added some more photos from our return flight which had slightly different amenities. Check them out in the photo gallery below!
Last week, we found ourselves in Newark Airport lusting after the folks checking into Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class on a flight to London, wondering when oh when, will little old us ever be plucked from (premium) economy and given that glorious upgrade into first.
But after watching the firsties pre-board, we snapped out of our daydream and began to board with the rest of the plane. Suddenly, there was a DING! just after we handed our ticket to the gate attendant. She muttered, "Oh. It seems your seat has changed." We assumed the worst and began to fret that they've shoved us out of our aisle seat and into a middle seat in the back to make room for a big family or a preferred flyer.
But no. The attendant shuffled back to the desk and rummaged through some ticket stubs. She then discretely handed us a new stub and said in a low voice, "You've been upgraded to Upper Class."* We nearly dropped our carry-on in disbelief (or possibly, that September issue of Vogue was really getting heavy.)
So, now that we've had a taste of Upper Class, will we ever go back? First, step inside the Upper Class cabin and see for yourself.
