Catch the Tribeca Film Festival's Movies Without Being in Tribeca
Tribeca Enterprises, which runs the Tribeca Film Festival, and the Sundance Institute, which operates the Sundance Film Festival, are making it possible for you to see all of their best offerings, without leaving your living room. For the past few years, Sundance, Tribeca, and other fests have been experimenting with premiering movies on the web, or on-demand, at the time the movies are premiering live.
Now, they are ready to take the next step into digital distribution. Tribeca has plans to distribute 26 films this year in theaters, on-demand in 40 million homes, and on Web services like iTunes.

Tribeca Film Festival Tickets Are Already On Sale, Or You Can Just Watch It on Cable
Movie buffs and star stalkers should be gearing up for the Tribeca Film Festival, which hits Lower Manhattan April 21 to May 5.
This year's slate of films have everything from the premiere of what we hope will be the last of the tired Shrek franchise, Shrek Forever After, to a sure-to-be-scandalous untitled documentary on former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, to Straight Outta L.A., a doc about the Raiders football team's influence on hip-hop from Ice Cube.

How To Volunteer For The Tribeca Film Festival

Jaunted contributing editor Christine M. Bord has a passion for movies and for volunteer travel. Here's her experience of combining both.
Volunteer vacations don’t have to be about saving wildlife or building houses. Most film festivals also need volunteers to make sure their events go off without a hitch. There are usually pretty good perks too. Like free movie tickets, swag, food and the opportunity to meet people with shared interests.
Two years ago, my boyfriend and I took a weekend getaway to the Big Apple and worked as volunteers for the Tribeca Film Festival. The volunteer coordinator was kind enough to schedule our boyfriend and us for the same shifts in the same theater. We took tickets, answered questions and worked the concessions stand at Tribeca Cinemas, a cool gallery, theater and event space on Varick Street. Our daily shifts only lasted about four hours giving us plenty of time to enjoy everything else the city had to offer.

Adventures of Link: Tribeca Film Fest Starts Tonight
Speaking of movies, the Tribeca Film Festival kicks off tonight with the premiere of "Baby Momma," starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The fest runs until May 4, and tickets are still available for screenings and events around lower Manhattan.
The lack of a central venue can make it a bit tricky to navigate the fest, but with a map in hand and some advance planning, we know you can swing it. After all, you've got 586 public screenings to choose from.

Sneak Preview: Tribeca Film Festival 2008
It's time to dig into your wallets film lovers, because the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival is almost here--and there's a ton of great stuff to pick from.
The festival, started in 2001 by Robert De Niro, will feature about 125 movies this year, including "Baby Mama" from the hilarious minds of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The entire festival runs from April 23 to May 4, and also offers cool extras like free outdoor screenings, a family street fair and sports film marathons. The full film lineup will be announced in the next couple weeks.
Another perk? If you head to a weekday screening, single tickets are just $8. Or you can go big and get the Hudson Pass (just $1,100!), which gets you access to all screenings as well as the annual gala where you just may run into Bobby D himself. As for where to stay, De Niro's brand new Greenwich Hotel is the obvious pick.
