Barker-AM Crash Lawsuit: The Finger-Pointing Frenzy
Travis Barker's showing up to the Grammys with his arm in a sling (alongside bandmates Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge) reminded us of the last major airline accident before Flight 1549. (Barker just had surgery for nerve damage stemming from the accident.) Has Barker gotten any justice since the crash that took four lives?
Well, no, but at least he's performing again since his highly publicized reunion with fellow survivor D.J. AM on New Year's Eve. Barker filed suit against the owner of the plane and the manufacturer of the blown tire that sent their Learjet 60 off the runway at Columbia Metropolitan Airport Sept. 19. (AM, alias Adam Goldstein, sued later that month.) In turn, the owner of the plane has sued Learjet and the airport, claiming they were both "defective."
We gotta wonder whether there's any money in suing an airport. The family of a woman who died at a Phoenix airport last year sued the city, but not Sky Harbor International; San Francisco Airport faced a class action suit brought by deaf passengers who felt the airport did not accommodate them, but settled in 2005. If law enforcement is involved, it's probably more productive to sue them.

Miami Trumps Vegas In Star-powered Soirees
The annual tradition of the celeb-hosted New Year’s Eve party is upon us again, and this year Vegas, already hurting, is getting the some of the weakest wattage possible. You'd do much better to hit up Miami where Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson are hosting a party at Mansion. Kristin Cavallari (!), Kellan Lutz and Robert Iler will all be at Shore Club’s Skybar. Chloë Sevigny is heading to the Gansevoort Hotel in South Beach, where T.I. will perform. Diddy will be ringing in the new year at LIV nightclub inside the Fontainebleau Resort while Molly Sims handles the festivities inside Blade, also at Fontainebleau. And rounding out the South Beach celebrations, AnnaLynne McCord is hosting at B.E.D.
In NYC, Mario Lopez is hosting the party at Marquee, and in LA Travis Barker and DJ AM will be performing together at The Lot for the first time since they were injured in September's plane crash.
Meanwhile, the best Sin City has to offer is Denise Richards at Prive in the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and The Kardashians at LAX. Vegas couldn’t even hold onto the Hilton sisters who are usually a NYE staple on the Strip. Instead, this year they're set to host the Bongo Virus Party in Sydney.
If you’re jet setting off to one of these star-studded soirees next week, leave a comment or drop us a line at tips@jaunted.com.

Together Again And Happier Than Ever
They've come a long way since their September crash, but Travis Barker and DJ AM seem to have developed a special power from it: On New Year's Eve, they will be... in ten cities at once!
Okay, not really, but their Los Angeles concert will be broadcast to nine other American cities as part of New Year's Nation, a series of parties linked by a common sound system. From Atlanta to Seattle, a ticket to New Year's Nation gets you an open bar, champagne at midnight and access to the cheers of other cities, but Barker and Mr. AM will be performing in LA, so we suggest you go there. After all, the dudes are practically invincible now.

Barker Sues Over Plane Crash
Who wants to go to court? Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has filed suit against the owner of the plane whose September crash sent him to the burn unit, as well as tire manufacturer Goodyear.
Because a blown tire contributed to the crash that killed four and sent Barker and DJ AM to the hospital, Barker is alleging that the plane was not in flying shape when it took off from Columbia Metropolitan Airport September 19. But pilot negligence may have contributed: In tapes from the air-traffic control room, the pilots are instructed to continue flying despite the blown tire, advice they clearly disregarded.
Barker, who still cannot swim because his body is covered in third-degree burns, told E! Online that DJ AM is not involved in the lawsuit, in which he seeks compensation for "pain and suffering, mental anguish, psychological and emotional distress and disfigurement and pre-impact fear of death and burning."

Recovery Travel: Details Emerge On Barker/ AM Crash
DJ AM and Travis Barker are still recovering in an Augusta, Georgia burn center after the Learjet they were on skidded off the runway and caught fire Friday night. The crash killed four people--two pilots and Barker's bodyguard and assistant--and is now believed to have been caused by a blown tire which impeded takeoff.
According to the coroner's report, the pilot and copilot died of smoke inhalation while Chris Baker and Charles Still, the assistant and bodyguard, were killed on crash impact. Barker and AM told police on the scene that they slid down the right wing of the plane in order to get away from the flames and helped each other to extinguish themselves.
Barker's ex-wife Shanna Moakler and AM's ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore have both arrived in Georgia and are visiting the burn center daily. With AM's parade of celebrity girlfriends--he has previously been linked to Nicole Richie, "Laguna Beach" star Kristin Cavallari and "Gossip Girl" guest star Michelle Trachtenberg--the star wattage of South Carolina can only increase, even in tragedy.
