While the thought of getting on public transportation and in cabs bag free is an empowering one, economically it might not not work for your run-of-the-mill trip. However, for those trips where you have a ton of bags to tote (think long term stays, summer shares, etc), or for trips where you are carrying heavy baggage this could be a godsend.
