Maybe Moleskine Should Just Stick to Making Notebooks

There's nothing we love more here at Jaunted than well-made (and slick) travel products. Okay, so maybe we like a few things more—ah hem long-haul travel, in-flight WiFi, weird food—but when one of our favorite travel notebook brands expands into a range of bags and other small accessories, we perk up and take notice. Enter the Moleskine Travelling Collection.

The collection includes everything from a fairly conservative tote bag to Hipsterific reading glasses. There's even a Utility Bag which seems to be an ideal airplane carry-on.

Curious about the collection, we strolled over to Bloomingdale's (they have the new Moleskine goodies in their 3rd Avenue windows) and inspected it up close. Here's what we thought:

Where to Find the World's First (and Only) Store Devoted to Moleskine Notebooks

We bet New York, San Francisco and Paris are quite jealous of Shanghai right now. Why? Because earlier this month, the world's first standalone Moleskine notebook store opened in the city's Xintiandi Style Mall. Shanghaiist kindly reminds us that Moleskines are "supposedly the notebook of choice for Oscar Wilde, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and Henri Matisse," but we know them to be equally beloved by contemporary travel writers and creatives as a stylish physical alternative to tapping away on a laptop all the time.
