Lilly Pulitzer. If you haven't heard of this Palm Beach print-crazy clothing line before, then you will by April 19. That's when the clothing company known for its outrageous patterns and
frightening bright colors will drop at Target with more than 250 pieces made especially for the department store.
The preppy collaboration collection will include apparel, accessories and shoes for women and girls, along with home accents, outdoor entertaining accessories, beach gear and travel essentials. And all this Lilly stuff will truly be limited-edition as the 15 prints were designed exclusively for Target and won't be found anywhere else.
We're not sure a massive, completely affordable collaboration (prices range from $2 to $150) with Target was what socialite Lilly Pulitzer had in mind when she first started her business in tony Palm Beach in the 1960s but it does mean everyone can take a little bit of Palm Beach around with them on their spring and summer vacations.
The look book hasn't been unveiled for the line just yet but from the preview video above we can see that the following travel-related items will be for sale:
Have you decompressed from the Jason Wu for Target hysteria? Yes? Then, you're ready for the next round of designer collabos, right?
What we love about this next round is that it showcases local boutiques across the country. The Shops at Target program, debuting in stores and online May 6, will partner directly with the owners of specialty stores, including candy shops, homewares, pet stores and of course, stylish boutiques like The Webster in South Beach.
The real-life Webster is an impeccably edited den of style, housed in a perfect little Art Deco building on Collins Avenue. We love it but can't afford it so are chomping at the bit to snatch up some of the summery pieces in the Target collection (especially since, unlike some of the highbrow labels stocked at the real boutique, this line includes pieces in plus and petite sizes). But which items to make a beeline for?
We solved our dilemma--and yours--by asking The Webster's super-chic owner and co-creator of this collaboration, Laure Heriard Dubreuil, for her top picks for packing on a summer getaway. You know, to a place as hot and happenin' as South Beach.
