The recent demolition of Terminal 6

Remember when Terminal 6 at JFK—that's the old I.M. Pei-designer building for National Airlines—came tumbling down last October? The structure had been abandoned for years, since JetBlue moved from T6 over to their newly built Terminal 5 in 2008, so it's not like JFK was impacted by the bulldozing of it.

In fact, the plot of land between Temrinals 5 and 7 is a blank slate, prime airport property for the taking...and JetBlue has already snatched it up with approval to build another terminal: T5i. What's that extra "i" stand for? Oh, just "international," as JetBlue's international routes will be based out of this future terminal.
