A Segway for Koizumi

Here's your world leader update for today: while Pres. Bush has been in Japan meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, he presented his new pal with the dorkiest of gifts, his own Segway.
Koizumi got very excited:
Koizumi took a brief 1 metre (3 ft) ride, and cried out, "Oh, very good."
Bush has also given them to both of his parents as gifts. The really great thing about this present is that it's completely illegal to ride Segways on public byways in Japan.
Perhaps Koizumi should hit the road and check out some Segway tours in other cities!

Then get your lazy ass to Fodor's today and check out the latest in sightseeing: Segway Tours. Yep, those annoying things are back and running into pedestrains all over cities from Austin to Vienna on official Segway sightseeing city tours.
They range from $60-$80 and include a 30-minute orientation class. Don't laugh, if you are dorky enough to ride one you are dorky enough to take an orientation class.

This particular shot depicts blog kingpin Jason McCabe Calacanis on a Segway puttering around the banks of Seine.
Jaunted Tip: When riding a Segway in Paris, always wear a helmet...you never know when the French will start pelting American travlers with rocks.
