NYC Restaurant Week Report: L'Ecole at the French Culinary Institute
We are happy to report that New York City's semiannual Restaurant Week has begun, and the city is absolutely packing places to take advantage of the three-course $24.07 lunches and $35 dinners.
It's only been since last Restaurant Week that some of the best restaurant in New York City have deigned to offer their discounted, prix-fixe menus on Sunday for brunch and dinner. Thus, it's still a novelty for us to indulge on the weekend, when previously that was the realm of the full-price only. And after seeing L'Ecole's substantial menu, we booked it for Sunday brunch and started planning what cocktail to order.
L'Ecole is the restaurant of the French Culinary Institute, so of course something with champagne...
Now, what we ate at our $24.07 brunch at L'Ecole at the French Culinary Institute:

NYC Restaurant Week Report: Chef Michael White's Ai Fiori
We are happy to report that New York City's semiannual Restaurant Week has begun, and the city is absolutely packing places to take advantage of the three-course $24.07 lunches and $35 dinners.
It's crazy to think, but we're already half-way through NYC Restaurant Week and we haven't done a meal yet. Forgive uswe were in Milan, but now we're back and jumping in with a $24.07 lunch at Ai Fiori, the newest venture from Michelin-starred chef Michael White, also behind such successes as Marea and Osteria Morini. Ai Fiori specializes in the cuisine of the Italian Riviera and is situated in classy digs at the just-opened Setai Hotel in Midtown. Booking was easy on OpenTable, and there's still openings for lunches through next week.

NYC Restaurant Week Report: The Russian Tea Room
We are happy to report that New York City's semiannual Restaurant Week has begun, and the city is absolutely packing places to take advantage of the three-course $24.07 lunches and $35 dinners.
There's still the rest of this week left to go until Restaurant Week in NYC ends for the season! With this in mind, we booked a last-minute lunch with a friend at The Russian Tea Room in Midtown, where they're serving up Restaurant Week meals for weekday lunch, weekday dinner, Sunday lunch and Sunday dinner. Our $24.07 three-course meal didn't have the largest portions, but for quality and service, it was better than the average lunch that's for sure.
Next up: $24.07 lunch at The Russian Tea Room.

NYC Restaurant Week Report: The Modern

Our saffron tagliatelle entree
We are happy to report that New York City's semiannual Restaurant Week has begun, and the city is absolutely packing places to take advantage of the three-course $24.07 lunches and $35 dinners.
For our first dinner of Restaurant Week, we revisited one of our favorite NYC restaurants: The Modern at The Museum of Modern Art. We've only had lunches here before and that was around the time when the James Beard Foundation named it both Best New Restaurant and Best Restaurant Design, and Wallpaper Magazine called it the Best New Restaurant in the World, and so we were anxious to try their dinner service now that years have passed.
And to help you make your decisions about where to dine next week (because Restaurant Week is actually two weeks, lasting until July 25) or perhaps to sway you into hitting up the Big Apple next Restaurant Week (in winter), we're giving you the low-down on our best meals of the week, and this was totally one of them.
Next up: $35 dinner at The Modern--Bar Room.
