Movie Set Travel: Miss Potter

We used to love the Beatrix Potter books as a kid. There was something so reassuring about frogs carrying little hobo bags on sticks and ducks wearing bonnets, so we may actually see this week's pick, Miss Potter, sooner rather than later.
Renee Zellweger takes on Beatrix, and the film follows her dealings with sexism, her traditional family, search for success, and love, all while she pens her much-loved children's books.
This one was actually filmed where much of the action originally took place (gasp!) so we offer you some fun things to do in and about England. Watch out for Peter Rabbit!
Where to Stay:
Grand Island Hotel, Isle of Man
Head to this uber-quaint island getaway, in the Irish Sea, between England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Perched on an emerald hillside, the Grand Island Hotel is on Brides Lane. It's not luxurious, but rooms are aptly English, and you can enjoy delicacies like local lamb and shrimp in the restaurant or have a spot of tea while looking out at the rocky cliffs. Prices are incredibly reasonable, with rooms starting at $87/night.
Where to Visit:
Hill Top, Cumbria
Pop in at Ambleside and check out the real house of the real Beatrix Potter in the countryside. The house contains personal effects, furniture, and china from Potter's time, as well as some of her treasured illustrations. Apparently, it's teeny tiny (read: not suitable for crowds), so avoid going in the high summer months, and you can pre-book via phone once in England.
Where to Pub:
The Adelaide, Middlesex
Stop in Teddington, in Middlesex, and have a seat at The Adelaide, a great neighborhood pub. Close to the train station, you'll find real ale, traditional dishes, and a quaint little garden out back -- perfect for sneaking out into for some fresh air. Upstairs you and your new mates can play rounds at the pool table.
