How Stars Will Save The Economy

Most stars won't go anywhere near the New York Stock Exchange right now (although they'll put their money in it in private). Above, in happier times, the Giants came to bring some of their Super Bowl luck to the trading floor.

Mandy Moore, who has been working on her sixth album, dared to ring the traditional opening bell on Friday on Wall Street for Coach's Coach Cares while wearing what looks like a bronze plated credit card. Considering the Dow Jones rose some 300 points on Friday, maybe she should do it more often, even though Fast Company found no link between market performance and star power of who's opening or closing the trading day. (Note to NYSE: We're free! Put us in!)
