Richard Branson Might Make A Cameo On Virgin America's 'Fly Girls' TV Show

January 12, 2010 at 10:34 AM | by | Comment (1)

It's almost mid-season in the land of television series, and you know what that means? New shows, including the much-anticpated CW one following around the flight attendants of Virgin America. it's called "Fly Girls" and it should be sufficiently salacious and sexy, what with five high-flying hotties partying just as hard as they work.

But just how involved in the show is the airline? The LA Times recently looked into this question, and discovered everything but the show's premier date, although they did say in March. Now although you'll see plenty of Virgin America logos and planes in the show, that wasn't a term dictated by the airline; apparently Virgin gave the telveision crew free reign and simply comped the flights for the crew to shoot. But then Virgin's biggest mascot might even make an appearance; we're talking about good old Richard Branson of course.

But wait, there's more!

A First Look At 'Fly Girls,' Bringing Juicy Flight Attendant Drama To The CW

November 20, 2009 at 8:33 AM | by | Comments (2)

Let the buzz begin over the newest reality show-drama to hit the boob tube: "Fly Girls," a "docu-series" that will follow the day-to-night, sky-to-ground lives of five flight attendants for Virgin America. The teaser commercial just leaked last night on YouTube (we've posted it above), and already we're salivating for the start.

Now we know that Virgin America is bringing the sexy back to air travel, but this is the stuff of pure vice. For those of you familiar with the MTV shows "The Hills" and "The City," "Fly Girls" might feel familiar since the show is from the same executive producer, and we can already see the similarities through this brief spot alone. Still, it won't be all clubbin' and kissin' for the girls, as the CW is saying that the show is to be a "360-degree look at the charismatic jet-setting flight attendants on America’s hippest new airline." Does this mean we'll get to watch them explaining to cranky passengers how to connect to the in-flight WiFi?

The goodies on the show, after the jump.

The Newest 'Bachelor' is a Pilot for Atlantic Southeast Airlines

October 21, 2009 at 8:38 AM | by | Comments (0)

ABC's dating reality show, "The Bachelor", is about to head into its 14th season--yes, 14th season--and thanks to a long line at our grocery store the other night we learned from People magazine that the newest bachelor will be Jake Pavelka, a contestant who was dissed on last season's "Bachelorette" by Jillian Harris.

So what's so special about Jake aside from his winsome smile, adorable baby pic (in a tracksuit!) and his rock hard abs? Well, he actually flies for Atlantic Southeast Airlines. (Yeah, we haven't flown them either.)

ASA is actually a Delta Connection carrier that serves 135 U.S. destinations from its hub in Atlanta and goes as far west as San Antonio and as far north as Montreal. Jake, 31, has been flying for ASA since 2000, a year after he starred in a bit part on the TV show, Walker, Texas Ranger (Check out his IMDB Profile!) The show, titled "The Bachelor: On The Wings Of Love," is expected to start filming later this month and will air in early 2010.
