One Lucky Billionaire is Now Part-Owner of Hawaii
If you haven’t seen The Descendants yet, you might want to do so, as apparently it’s playing out in real life over on Hawaii. Basically George Clooney’s character in the movie is forced with a tough decision about whether or not to sell his family’s ancestral land to outsiders. Now in real life it looks like the same thing is taking place, as someone is getting ready to write quite the significant check.
Larry Ellison—famous for founding Oracle and being super rich—just finalized a deal in which he will pretty much own a huge part of Hawaii. You heard us right; he’s buying his very own island, and he’s going call a very large part of Hawaii home. Ferris Bueller Travel: The Ferrari House Hits the Market
While nothing would give us greater pleasure than to do a series on places featured in the classic movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a simple visit to Chicago should take care of most of your curiosity. High-Profile Divorce Travel: Where Is A-Rod Going?
Now that his divorce is final, Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez is movin' out--and maybe moving closer to new squeeze Madonna. Just days after putting his old apartment at Trump Park Avenue on the market, A-Rod checked out condos at 15 Central Park West, a new limestone-clad building with park views. Hey, that's on the same street as Madonna's New York pad!
Other buyers in the building reportedly include Denzel Washington, Bob Costas and Sting (although he lives at another Upper West Side apartment a few blocks away).
Non-New Yorkers, check below the jump for a map that shows you just exactly how neighborly Madonna and A-Rod are getting.
