Possible Presidents Travel: Foreign Experience in Chablisland

September 24, 2008 at 3:30 PM | 2 Comments

Former Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin is in New York again today, trying to associate herself with the world leaders on parade at the United Nations this week. After meeting with Hamid Karzai and Alvaro Uribe Tuesday, she hunkered down for a rap session with Henry Kissinger.

Today's schedule has her lunching with Pakistan's new President Asif Ali Zardari. Later tonight, she plans to meet Indian PM Manmohan Singh. While the company is très internationale, she's staying at the relatively frumpy Millenium Broadway.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden, whose foreign policy resume needs no padding, gave a speech on the subject today at the Cincinnati Museum Center--where President Bush laid out his case for the Iraq war six years ago. Why all the talk about international relations? It was supposed to be the subject for the first debate between Barack Obama and John McCain on Friday night in Oxford, Mississippi--but now McCain wants the debates put on hold!

John McCain is in Sedona, Arizona today shooting new campaign ads against the backdrop of gorgeous red rocks. McCain spoke at private fundraisers in Sacramento and San Diego yesterday but he's packing his bags for a big weekend: To pull focus from the Democratic convention, the Arizona senator is expected to announce his veep pick at a Dayton, Ohio rally in an arena Barack Obama filled in February. Coincidence? We think not!

Meanwhile, Obama's road trip to the DNC is almost over: He's in Billings, Montana today meeting with veterans and their families.

After a triumphant stop in his home state of Illinois with new road buddy Joe Biden, Barack Obama is speaking in Davenport, Iowa this morning at a "One Nation" town hall meeting. While his wife Michelle Obama is making tracks to Denver to speak at the DNC tonight, her husband is wending his way there, stopping in the battleground state of Missouri tomorrow. John McCain is polling 10 points ahead of Obama in the Show Me State, according to last week's numbers.
