Of course we all know about the phenomenon that is the carpet over at Portland International Airport, but now there’s another airport getting in on the flooring craze. This time it’s Pittsburgh International Airport, as the PIT people are in the middle of making their flooring into a bit of an art installation.
Airport officials are calling on nearby Carnegie Mellon University for a little bit of inspiration, as they’re utilizing the school—and professor and artist Clayton Merrell—for design assistance for the 169,000 square-foot project.
According to Action News 4, it’s all Terrazzo tiling, and the final airport masterpiece will reveal blue skies and puffy clouds—a pretty safe design for an airport terminal if you ask us. It sounds like they’re hopeful that travelers will feel as if they are walking across the sky.

If there are two teams—or at least fans—that dislike each other more than any other in the NFL it’s probably the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. it doesn't help that the two teams play each other a couple of times each and every year, as they call the same division home.
One game is already in the books for this year, as the Ravens came out victorious after a big win at home early in the season. Now the teams play again in Pittsburgh during the big Sunday night game on November 2.
It's Lights, Camera, Action for the Steel City.
With the success many U.S. cities - like New York, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Los Angeles - have had with movie location tours, Pittsburgh is ready to launch their own.

The National Zoo, which is mere feet away from Jaunted's Washington DC offices, just put all 11 members of its otter family on exhibit. The clan of Asian small-clawed otters had been transported from Southern California to take up residence in the nation's capital, and the 9 pups are by all reports simply adorable. The Zoo has an extensive photo gallery confirming those reports and persuasively demonstrating that baby otters are indeed very small and very cute.
But what if you can't make it to Washington DC this summer but still want to see otter pups up close and personal? Or what if you can make it but don't want to because, like everybody else, you refuse to set foot in the city because DC's July and August are unlivable? You're in luck.

If you’re an Iron Chef it’s clear that you are more than half-way decent at cooking, but it also means that you have a passion for restaurants—especially those at the airport. Cat Cora is already slinging stuff in San Francisco and Houston, and now Michael Symon is planning to do something similar.
Bar Symon is headed to Pittsburgh International Airport as soon as this May, and the plan is to ensure that hungry travelers are well fed and are provided with something a little more substantial than a bag of pretzels and a Diet Coke. We’re most looking forward to taking a crack at the restaurant’s "Lola Burger," which will be topped with a fried egg and pickled red onions.

MTV's The Real World has called more than 20 cities homeincluding New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, and Las Vegasover the past 26 seasons and now it looks like they may be adding Pittsburgh to that list.
Though there is no official confirmation from MTV about the show's 27th location, and the Pittsburgh Film Office has remained mum about the possibility, many local websites, Twitter reports, and even Wikipedia, seem to agree that The Real World: Pittsburgh is finally happening in 2012.
Last week, Jake Gyllenhaal made appearances on several TV and radio talk shows to promote his new movie, Love and Other Drugs, which also stars Anne Hathaway. But Jake wasn't just singing the praises of his co-star during the interviews; he was also raving about a special sandwich he had while they were filming the movie in Pittsburgh.
On Friday he told Jimmy Fallon, "My favorite sandwich is a Primanti Brothers' sandwich, it has the french fries in the sandwich and cole slaw."

President Obama might be making his first presidential visit to Pittsburgh today for the G20 Summits, but before heading off for some serious work-time, Mr. and Mrs. Obama hit up New York again for a couple days, creating mass traffic confusion, but some actual excitement when Michelle lunched at the famed Gramercy Tavern restaurant.
In all fairness, Michelle had to eat alone since Barack was not in town for tourist activities like usual, but instead addressing the United Nations. Gramercy Tavern is an excellent choice for the First Lady, even if she may have gone because the chef behind the restaurant also catered the UN activities. It is upscale, rather exclusive and hard to get reservations for, and is known for being a cheerleader of American cuisine.
She didn't make reservations...

What to Stay:
Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, is located in the restored Fulton Building at 107 6th St and is, apparently, fit for a President. Though price may be a little high for Pittsburgh, about $199 a night, the Renaissance has a prime location near the city's theaters, Heinz Field, PNC Park, and Mellon Arena.
We were remiss when we dedicated the Democratic presidential primary on April 22 to the city of Philadelphia. How could we neglect the rest of the great state? So here's a Heinz-Warhol edition to warm the hearts of western Pennsylvania.
We recommend not bowling or hunting with anyone you meet at one of these hot spots:
