Blogger Erin of brieflynoted took a photo of what she believed was an old woman sitting naked in Brooklyn's Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park. No one could have been more surprised when the individual in the picture, a man who claimed to be wearing a yellow thong, found her photo on Flickr and left her a comment.
The subject didn't seem that embarrassed, but we hope our blurry outlines never turn up on the photo sharing site. Makes us long for a nice, prudish beach.
You might be surprised to know we've informed you about nude cruises before. What we haven't been able to promote until now is the pleasure of a nude flight. But we're pleased to tell you that gap in the market has been filled by a German tour company.
Apparently the Germans are rather fond of showing the world their private bits--they have some hotels where you're even allowed to eat in the restaurant naked. So a flight is not much of a stretch. The inaugural nude flight is scheduled for July 5, 2008, as a day trip from Erfurt to the Baltic resort of Usedom.
Just 55 people will be able to get a ticket for this trip--they're using a small plane--and none of them will be able to take their clothes off until after takeoff. And the flight attendants will be leaving their clothes on, for safety reasons. This sounds like one flight on which no one will care if the in-flight entertainment system fails.
The folks over at Globorati, a most excellent luxury travel blog, let us know about a gay nude luxury voyage set for this May, complete with plenty of, um, gadgets, of course.
Sail into uncharted waters aboard a luxury Windstar yacht replete with flat-screen TVs and iPods for 148 guests who'll visit ports in Rome, Athens, Sorrento and Mykonos. Just imagine a gaycation without the attitude.
Yup, there it is, plain as day in the website's disclaimer--This voyage is for men who enjoy sailing nude.
The cruise organizers also promise "an Internet Café steps from the Roman ruins".
Gaycations, social networking cruises, and the possibility of clothes free wireless--sounds like Homorati 2.0 has arrived.
