Fans Of 'Glee' Will Flee To NYC And LA For The Upcoming Mall Tour

October 28, 2009 at 9:34 AM | by cmb | 0 Comments

The cute cast, catchy tunes and biting one-liners of Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) are making Glee a runaway hit. The show is about Will (Matthew Morrison), a Spanish teacher hoping to bring back the glory of the school's glee club as we follow the drama of the kids in his club and, of course, of his arch nemesis, Sue.

Fanatics of the new Fox comedy, or "Gleeks" as they are known, are finally going to get the chance to not only buy the first volume of music from the show, but also see the cast live at mall appearances in New York, New Jersey and California.

Where to get your Glee on, after the jump.

Score Tickets To See Bruce Springsteen at Giants Stadium For The Last Time

September 9, 2009 at 10:28 AM | by cmb | 0 Comments

Its no surprise that hometown boy Bruce Springsteen holds the record as the number one selling artist at the Meadowlands and has sold out more than 50 concerts there with the E Street Band. The boss was scheduled to play three more shows at Giants Stadium on September 30th, October 2nd and October 3rd, but because the shows sold out so quickly, they have added two more dates on October 8th and October 9th. The high demand for tickets is, at least in part, due to the fact that Springsteen will be the last major act to play at the stadium before it is demolished.

If you want to see Bruce at Giants Stadium one last time, you better act fast. The additional show on October 9th is already sold out but, according to Ticketmaster, there are still tickets available for the October 8th concert. As of this morning, a search for the "best available" seats only returned seats in the upper-most level of the stadium for $65.

Paul McCartney Insists He's Fine, Even While Visiting New Jersey

November 9, 2006 at 9:00 AM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Always one to keep us filled in on the whereabouts of celebrities, Page Six reported yesterday that Paul McCartney was handling his messy divorce from Heather Mills just fine.

Monday night, the former Beatle dined at Italian eatery Il Gattopardo on West 54th Street. When he got up to leave, patrons applauded and cheered - one even shouted, "We're with you all the way, Paul!" The circus continued yesterday when McCartney, after being chased by photographers and reporters, stopped his car in residential New Jersey to give an impromptu press conference, where he said, "Look, I am doing just fine. I just need some time to myself."

We're not so sure we believe that. Sometimes, we would prefer a messy divorce over a trip through residential Jersey.

Maybe L.A. Looks Can Open a Boutique There?

May 16, 2006 at 10:05 AM | by AVB | 0 Comments

Is Seaside Heights actually transforming into, horror of horrors, something more upscale? The town was a veritable construction crane festival in the town over the past year. Babe's Corner Deli, which burned down two years ago, is back and doing whatever it is they do there better than before. Also slated to open this year are the Sea Palace Inn and the somewhat lasciviously named White Pearl Motel.

Far more terrifying, however, are 200 luxury condos finishing construction, with 44 of them to ready this summer. Average cost: $500,000. Just think! A Sub-Zero fridge for your cases of Natty Lite; marble countertops in the bathroom, prefect for displaying your many varieties of chest wax; and ample closet space for your silk shirts. Clearly, each and every one of those units are worth the five hundred grand they cost. To summarize: Upscale, but not classier.

Remember, if you want to spend you summer on the Jersey Shore, don't forget to check out, and contribute to, our New Jersey Beach Houses map.

New Jersey Has It All, Indeed

May 12, 2006 at 9:45 AM | by AVB | 0 Comments

Traction on our New Jersey slogan story! We've been accused of mocking Detroit too much during the Super Bowl, sure. But have we been too snide about the Garden State? One Jaunted reader thinks so; we're not upset, though, because they've contributed a slogan. No, it's not "New Jersey--Bada Bing". Read on:

I'm a proud resident of NJ and anyone who's actually visited the
entire state (somewhere other than the area surrounding Newark Airport which I admit is less than attractive...ever been to Dallas?) would know it has more to offer than most other states.  That includes beautiful beaches to amazing mountains....the pine barrens, some of the best academic institutions, history dating back to the civil war, the best tomatoes anywhere (we are called the "Garden State" for a reason), theater, culture and most of all, a state filled with diversity in our people.  There's a reason NJ is the most densely populated state in the country....because it offers SO much!!

So, I actually have a serious slogan suggestion that I submitted too late for the contest.  Everyone who's heard it says it the best yet:

New Jersey....We've Got it All!!

We'd also like to add that any state that is home to the munchmobile is fine by us. Don't forget to send any more slogans to tipsATjauntedDOTcom.

Are You from Jersey?

May 8, 2006 at 12:40 PM | by AVB | 1 Comment

Poor New Jersey. As if the Sopranos tours and the bad smell weren't enough, their newest slogan--"Come See for Yourself"--can't be used because it was previously the slogan for West Virginia's tourism board. Of course, New Jersey has a recent history of plagiarism, being the home state of Kaavya Viswanathan. Nonetheless, even though the motto was the winner of a recent statewide poll, in which Jerseyites picked the slogan they liked best, it won't be featured in tourism materials until the state decides how to proceed.

It's too easy for us to mock the Garden state, so we'll let you guys do it instead. If you have a suggestion for New Jersey's new slogan, send it our way, to tipsATjauntedDOTcom. We'll publish the best ones at the end of the week. And if you're actually from New Jersey, make sure to tell us which exit in your email. We eagerly await your responses.

Beach House Spectacular: Jersey Shore

April 27, 2006 at 10:35 AM | by AVB | 1 Comment

Click here to go straight to the Jersey Shore Beach Houses Map

Yesterday, Jaunted launched the first of a three-part series covering the places you'll be this summer if you're vacationing in the Northeast. Yeah, yeah, we know we are seconds away from our first email pointing out a Northeastern bias. You can change that:

Send along tips, photos, rumors, gossip, recommendations, locations and traffic busters to our map editors, become a member and comment on the beach house stories below, and add to the Jaunted-Flickr photo pool so your fellow readers can satisfy their voyeuristic summer fantasies. Why? While this may be a lofty goal, we are hoping by the end of the summer, these maps and stories will leave you with a helpful guide to beach housing in the Northeastern U.S., circa 2006.  Whether or not that happens is up to you.

We started things off with Maine yesterday, continue today with the Jersey Shore, and end with Long Island tomorrow. Don't forget your sunblock.

The Jersey Shore; sure, there are plenty of stereotypes about the place, but we all know someone who spent their summers here. Unlike the more insular beach communities to the north and east, the Jersey Shore has something for everybody. Even Guidos have feelings, right?

Hit Thunder Road this Summer with the Boss

April 18, 2006 at 1:31 PM | by sedona | 0 Comments

It seems Bruce Springsteen better buy some more matching luggage. He is going to be all over this country this summer, having just announced the tour dates for his brand new Seeger Sessions band--the mammoth 17-member ensemble that also features his wife, Patti Scialfa.

The tour is in support of Springsteen's first-ever cover album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, covers of songs made famous by Pete Seeger.

The show will criss-cross the country. Keep reading for tour dates if that's your thing...better start booking travel plans now. And be prepared to shell out for tickets, all the venues are large and most likely, expensive.
