Attend an Anti-Valentine's Day Party with Kevin Federline

February 1, 2007 at 3:02 PM | 0 Comments

If you have a reason to celebrate Valentine's day, you probably already have plans of some sort. If you only have a reason to mourn, however, you could still be contemplating: bar with friends? movie at home? shooting range? Well, here's one option for you singles in the Boston area. Kevin Federline will be hosting an Anti-Valentine's Day party on February 9 at Gypsy Bar. Friday night partygoers can bring photos of their exes to shred or simply enjoy a drink with "the biggest EX of the year."

For a bit of pampering to fill the void of romance in your life, you could opt for a stay at the Four Seasons Boston, which is close by on Boylston Street. It won't come cheap though: weekend rates are sold out, and standard rates are $625.

The club is promoting the party with a line on the website that reads "Are you among the most jaded? Come party with America’s Most Hated, Kevin Federline (yes – for real)." Oh, we don't doubt it's for real. What else does he have to do?

All-Inclusive Package, Including Man

January 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM | 0 Comments

The holiday season can be a common time to end relationships. That's an especially big problem if you've also got an expensive holiday booked. And that's the problem facing 39-year-old "insurance expert" Adam in England, who was dumped shortly before his planned (and self-paid) expensive, 5-star romantic holiday in Jamaica.

But Adam's not one to lose out on the cash (he works in insurance, remember) and he decided to auction off his ex-girlfriend's half of the trip on eBay. His fine print says "The only catch is you have to come with me." Apparently some seventy bidders so far have thought that won't be a problem, and the auction doesn't even end until January 6. While he's really only looking for a way not to lose too much money, who knows what the end result will be: remember the Croatian who married the girl who fit best into his ex-fiance's wedding dress? Have fun in Jamaica, Adam and auction-winner!

Breaking Up Isn't Hard to Do in St. Louis

September 6, 2006 at 8:45 AM | 0 Comments

Girlfriends and boyfriends in St. Louis be warned: if your significant other invites you out to Lucas Park Grille for a date, the words "It's not you, it's me" are in your future. And soon.

That's because this Loft District steakhouse was recently voted "Best Place to Break-Up" in Sauce Magazine's 2006 Reader's Choice poll. Owners guessed the victory could be owed to the restaurant's abundance of exits. While online diner reviews for Lucas Park are mixed, it's unclear whether or not the most scathing of 'em are, in fact, from those who were taken there just to be given the axe.

Runners-up in the break-up category were, in descending rank: Riddle's Penultimate Café & Wine Bar, Tony's, and Kaldi's Coffeehouse. Interestingly enough, #3 (Tony's) was ranked #1 in the poll's "Wait Staff" category, which must mean the servers give really good hugs.
