Mischa Barton is Tempted Again...By a Travel Pillow

Mischa Barton has had a rough go of it lately. First, there was incessant scrutiny about her cellulite from the press. Then came a very public DUI arrest. Even losing her "extra" poundage didn't seem to help her image or suffering career as her partying habits started to spiral out of control.

Just the other weekend, she pulled "a Britney" and was placed on an "involuntary psychiatric hold" at a Los Angeles medical center. After a few days, she was released and sent back to work on an upcoming CW show called, The Beautiful Life in which she plays a down and out model.

Because that's a lot of drama to endure--heck, we still can't function normally after a wild Friday night out---we'll have to forgive her for contemplating a fellow passenger's travel neck pillow after arriving in JFK on a flight from Los Angeles.

Mischa, we strongly hope you make the smart decision and just say "No" to this silly type of travel pillow but you know, we all make mistakes sometimes. At least it's not a Komfort Kollar. Also, note to self: do not stand next to celebrities getting their picture taken at the airport after a long cross-country flight. You could be photographed by the paps!

Traveling The Globe Instead Of Getting Globes

Miss the big party? Why not? While Hollywood got all glammed up for the Golden Globes, some stars opted to stay away--but not stay home.

The choice was easy for Victoria Beckham, who schlepped her brood of boys to the Colosseum in Rome to have them pose with some gladiators. And surprisingly, "The Hills"' Audrina Partridge, herself not a nominee either, chose Cabo--but she didn't end up getting married on a whim there.

Mischa Barton continued her attempt to be more like us by posting bikini pictures of herself in the Indian beach getaway Goa. But Steve Martin probably didn't want those photos of himself bodysurfing in St. Barts to get out. Ditto with Rihanna, who covered her face to hide a rumored cold sore while out shopping in Dublin, Ireland on tour.

Ironically, it was the Super World Travelers who set their course for La-La Land--nominees Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took home no prizes except each other. And Pitt's mustache.

Big winners Sunday night at the Globes were "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," which nabbed prizes for best drama and best musical or comedy. Kate Winslet snagged two acting awards for her lead role in "Revolutionary Road" and supporting role in "The Reader"; Mickey Rourke, Sally Hawkins and the late Heath Ledger were also honored. But everyone at the water cooler will be talking about how "The Wrestler" director Darren Aronofsky flipped off the cameras faster than NBC was able to blur it during Rourke's speech. Oh no! The children!

Mischa Barton Learns It's No Longer The '60s

Early this year, before "staycation" finally, regrettably, caught on, learning holidays looked to be the emerging travel trend of 2008. And at least one celeb is trying to keep the dream alive: Mischa Barton has been traipsing around India--and blogging about it!

From her official site:

I must admit I used to make fun of people who were all into yoga and chai tea thinking it was another ridiculous health fad. But now I'm that person! First of all Masala Chai tea, the traditional way with milk and sugar is delicious, and this is coming from a brit who only likes my breakfast tea!

I must say my goal coming here was to learn to play the sitar and it's coming along real slow as apparently it's not that easy to procure a great sitar teacher here, I guess it not late 60's with Ravi Shankar and George Harrison roaming around unfortunately!!!!

Even all those exclamation points, it seems, don't make it easy to pick a 20-something-string lute.

Is Josh Hartnett Getting More Discreet About His Hookups?

Not everyone gets to go back to the hotel lobby: Less than a month after actor Josh Hartnett was caught having sex on camera at the Soho London, he publicly rebuffed a flirtatious offer while partying at Bungalow 8.

Like his past escapade, this incident was caught on camera, as "OC" starlet Mischa Barton flirted with the West End performer, who was out drinking with buddy Nathan Followill of the band Kings of Leon. Maybe Hartnett never saw "The OC" or maybe he's getting smarter -- but neither of those could be true, right?!

Hopefully the very public scene boosted the Bungalow out of its reported slump: Nightlife maven Amy Sacco was never quite able to replicate the success of her New York club in the London fog, but this "members only" outlet is allegedly abandoned most nights by its prestigious members like Sienna Miller and Ralph Fiennes.

Mischa Barton Gets Icey in Sydney

First Mischa Barton lived it up in London, and now she's moved on to the colonies, namely Australia.  Doing press for various fashion lines, Mischa mades time for hitting up the hottest of the hot spots.  Icebergs Club is one of those, an establishment that started as an old-man style swimming club and now hosts Sydney's sexy young things for seafood dinners.

The restaurant is crazy expensive, but people can make a day trip out of it - stroll the length of the beach to the south side and have a drink while looking out on the famous beach. Apparently said drink will be accompanied by deep-fried olives, which seems weird, but we suppose it's worth a shot.

    Ah, summer, it is officially here. With 21 miles of coastline, and constant celebrity sunbathers, Malibu is one of the most popular sunning locales in SoCal.

    Malibu boasts plenty of private beaches with public access ways as well as plenty of popular public beaches.

    Parking is a real bitch, but if you can swing it you may be sharing a stretch of beach with Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe, Carmen Electra, Brad Pitt or even Danny Devito.  Yeah, they say you haven't lived until you see Danny Devito in a speedo.

    Just last week, waifs Nicole Richie and Micha Barton split a stretch of SoCal beach, toweless, with gawkers, dogs, and Malibuans, er, Malibuites, um, Malibu-agoans looking on. Can't these girls afford beach towels?
