WiFi Wednesday: MSP Is Free, Sort Of

Where: 4300 Glumack Drive [map], St. Paul, MN, United States

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, a major NWA hub, may have recently declared its space free and fair ground for travelers returning home with duty free booze, but internerds at MSP are not in quite as much luck. They're still stuck with standard-issue pay-to-play WiFi in most areas of the terminals. According to TravelPost, it's either Bongo or Concourse service, which means daily rates of $6.95-$7.95.

That pales in comparison to the worst of hotel WiFi rip-offs, but it's hardly as sexy as the free stuff, of course. While MSP won't be giving it up for free anytime soon, you can skirt the rules by leeching off of one of two Northwest Airlines clubs at the airport. There's one in concourse C and another in the F/G area (see map with key here).

Movie Set Travel: A Prairie Home Companion

Lindsay Lohan and Meryl Streep grace the big screen today in Robert Altman's A Prairie Home Companion. A glimpse into what goes on behind-the-scenes at the last broadcast of one of America's most beloved radio shows, the film is Lohan's 'dramatic acting' debut, so look out for the moment Lola Johnson snakes onstage. Woody Harrelson and Tommy Lee Jones play cowboy singers Dusty and Lefty, which promises some hilarity, as long as Woody doesn't start to talk about hemp pants.

As much of the film was shot in and around St.Paul, Minneso(oooh)ta, we offer you a glimpse into some cool things to do in the area.

Where To Drink:
The Lobby Bar
Looking for the place to be seen in St. Paul? Head to The Lobby Bar inside the Hotel St. Paul, which opened last year. You'll swill martinis amongst the city's luscious Lutherans, while you prop yourself up on the granite bartop. Afterwards head for a walk in Rice Park, just across the street.

Where To Shop:
Mall of America
You may pretend to scoff at the enormity and USA-edness of it, until you hit up Armani, Jack Spade, Kid Robot and Marc Jacobs. Then wait until you get home and see what great deals you got. This is it: The shopper's paradise with climate-control. We're so sure Lohan hit this up between takes.

Where To Stroll:
Grand Avenue
Grand Ave is the go-to for the locals and features some of the city's best restaurants and boutiques. Stop at the corner of Grand and Snelling to check out the aroma and deliciousness at Breadsmiths.
