Here is one André Balazs hotel inspired photo you won't find in the hoteliers new sexed up 2008 AB calendar, though it would fit right in. Obviously Elisha Cuthbert was not all that pleased that she was being photographed over the New Year celebration weekend. Though these photos do let us know that, when in Miami Beach, Kim Bauer chooses The Raleigh Hotel and its sweet strip of South Beach.
If AB was writing the caption it may read:
Elisha Cuthbert (Sagittarius), Actress at The Raleigh, South Beach Miami
When between film sets, this almost Mary Jane Watson actress proliferates the giant glasses on girls trend made famous on beaches worldwide in the year 2007. Though she reeks of anger in this photo, the reality is her bird flipping is simply an ironic gesture, or a trendy new way to welcome in the New Year.
Ok, so maybe that is why Andre didn't hire us to write the copy, but if you got the calendar you get the joke.
Jessica Alba spent the first week of 2007 being photographed over and over again in different bikinis on Miami Beach and she gave one kid the ultimate travel story.
Fratire site DoubleViking.com wrote an open letter to the kid, saluting him:
Put the goggles you wore on eBay. List them as "Goggles Worn When I Saw Jessica Alba In A Bikini" and set the minimum bid at $10,000. And then watch them sell. For a million bucks. You're probably thinking, but wait, they didn't even touch Alba, who's gonna buy them?" Kid, ohhh kid. The same sun rays that were baking the sweet, supple perfection that is Jessica Alba's ass passed through those goggles.
You saw Jessica Alba swim by...and lived to fight another day. Alba in a bikini is like a modern day version of a medieval dragon...mythical, amazing...and dangerous as hell.
There were plenty of reasons to go to Miami Beach before we came across this photo, but from the ear to ear grin on this kid's face, it appears Miami Beach may have just travel acquired a life long customer.
Did you know that it is Italian Horror Month in Miami Beach? Well, it is.
You can still catch the tail-end of this mini-film festival with showings going on for the rest of the week, including of course on Halloween Night. Held at The Miami Beach Cinematheque, the festival is showing Italian cult classics from directors such as Fellini, Bava, Martino, Miraglia, Argento, Fulci and Baino. Price ranges from $6 to $10, which we assume depends on who the film's director is. That or maybe it depends on your Senior Citizen discount.
If you're looking for other ways to spook yourself out on Halloween in Miami, ponder the soon-to-open Nicky O Hotel on Ocean Drive.
Simon Cowell, insta-judge of all things cool, apparently got it handed to him this week while traveling in Miami Beach. Sounds like he was just off a plane (and possibly dealing with the no-liquids issue) when he stopped off at a local CVS to buy shampoo and toothpaste.
He whipped out his Amex (Black, of course) and it was promptly denied, eliciting gasps from everyone in line. Forget to pay your bill Simon? He, characteristically, freaked out and screamed at the poor clerk, wondering how it was all possible and then ran out to his bodyguard/rep waiting in a limo and grabbed some cash.
Cowell's in town filming his popular British television show X-Factor, in between jetting around the country for next season's Idol tryouts.
