What Travel Goodies the Celebs Got in the $62,000 Oscars Gift Bags

Meryl Streep, Jean Dujardin, Christopher Plummer and Octavia Spencer may have won big last night at the 84th Annual Academy Awards, but Oscar or not, all of those nominated will be taking home a swaggy gift bag filled with $62,000 worth of goodies. As usual, travel freebies are responsible for many of those zeros, and as we do every year, we're highlighting them.

The 2012 gift bag isn't near as awesome as those of the last two years, which included items like Virgin Atlantic status, Virgin Galactic space flights, a Montana ranch experience and 4 days at a Maldives resort, but still—the celebs aren't doing too badly for themselves with these items:

Fine Dining With Meryl Streep in Brooklyn

Fine dining takes on a whole new meaning today as “The Untitled Nancy Meyers Project” begins filming at Dressler in Brooklyn. The movie stars Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin and TV’s hottest "Office" employee, John Krasinski. Little is known about the film but according to IMDb, it is “a romantic comedy in which two men vie for the affection of a woman.”

Anticipated Summer Movie Travel: Who Wants to Go to Greece?

We may be seasoned travelers, but there are a few things we just can't resist--like this just released trailer for the new "Mamma Mia!" movie musical. It's not just that we love the film's stars Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, and so on. We're absolutely in love with the locations!

While the musical is set "on a mythical isle," the film was shot on several Greek islands with harmonious names like Skiathos and Skopelos, where the film's protagonista (Seyfried) grew up with her free-spirit mom (Streep) and plans to wed.

Will the success of this year's "Hairspray" cause a run on travel to Greece, despite the strength of the Euro? We can't wait to find out.
