Destination: Campisi's Egyptian Restaurant
Don't let the name fool you: There's nothing remotely Egyptian about Campisi's, except for the old "restaurant" sign out front--the space was previously an Egyptian restaurant. Serving some of the best (and loved) pizza in Dallas, Campisi's opened in 1946, and claims to have "introduced pizza to Dallas."
Fans crave the salami pizza, formerly known as the pepperoni pie. Toppings range from artichoke hearts to green olives and a large pie only runs you $11. Be sure to get there and be prepared for a wait, sometimes as long 30-45 minutes.
Bonus Campisi's fact: The night before Kennedy's assassination, Jack Ruby (Lee Harvey Oswald's killer) chowed down there.

Moo-Shu Crew

Despite being reduced to a few restaurants and shops selling postcards, Little Italy is a popular stop for tourists in New York City, even as the nabe has continued to shrink. What's more, some of the most dyed-in-the-wool supporters of that area's restaurants are jumping ship for other cuisines.
Junior Gotti, currently being re-tried for sending two men to kill radio host/Guardian Angel Curtis Silwa, was given a one-day reprieve from his home confinement on his birthday this past Tuesday. For his gastronomical one-night stand, he passed on eating Italian and ate Chinese food on Long Island instead. Plus, after visiting his father's grave last year, he ate at Peking Duck House--clearly, Junior prefers Chinese for big events.
Gives a whole new meaning to hacked chicken, doesn't it?
