Inside Roberto Cavalli's Florentine Fashion Cafe

It was as we were walking through Florence the other day that we noticed something strange. In the middle of the designer shop area, there was a café. What’s more, it was a café bearing the name Roberto Cavalli. So we went in to investigate.
Turns out we’d found Caffe Giocosa, which Cavalli bought 10 years ago. It’s a normal Italian bar, it just happens to be particularly swish with hot waiters (although the clientele weren’t overly modelly) and has lots of animalprint hanging around, from its chair covers to its wrapping paper to its chocolates.

Five World Cities for Wearing White Pants Whenever You Want
Is your name Beyonce or Joe Jonas? Is there a day on your iCal marked "Diddy's White Party?" No? Then you're probably not breaking out the white pants very often during the year. Traditionally, white pants season (and relatedly, Sperry Topsider season) lasts from Memorial Day until the very last gasp of summer on Labor Day. Any other timewearing white is completely at your own risk...unless you take a trip to one of these five cities that wear white year-round:

Random Factoid: Kate Moss Was Discovered at JFK Airport
Kate Mossthe face that launched a thousand...campaigns. Who would've guessed that her massive, legendary and far-from-over modeling career began in a regular airport, one which you and I pass through without thinking anything of the history that's gone down there.
Moss was discovered at New York-JFK Airport in 1988 by Storm model scout Sarah Ducas. At the time, Kate was only 14 and was simply returning to Britain after a Bahamas vacation with her family. It was the most chance occurrence, but the waifish Moss signed with three modeling agencies and got her first big break on two covers of Brit mag The Face, followed by the biggest deal, becoming a face of Calvin Klein.

Bulgari Brings Elizabeth Taylor's Gems to Show Off at Paris' Grand Palais
If you're one of the lucky bunch heading to Paris for Christmas or New Years, or perhaps you just scored that Paris flight deal we told you about yesterday for early January travel, then you're in for a treat.
Many ask for jewelry for holiday gifts, but who receives an entire exhibition dedicated to the haute skills of the Italian brand Bulgari? The city of Paris, that's who. From December 10 to January 12, the City of Light's Grand Palais is hosting the glitziest examples of the last 125 years of jewelry awesomeness produced by the brand, including the jewels of both Elizabeth Taylor and famed Italian actress Anna Magnani.
The entry fee is 12 Euro per adult, which is quite a small price to pay considering how many priceless objects with which you'll soon be sharing the same air. See all the exhibition details here.

The Portland Report: Vintage Clutter at Flutter
A recent trip to Portland opened our eyes (and wallets) to some of the greenest city's great finds. This week, Sedona Fitzgerald will take you on a little field trip to "The City of Roses" for some of her favorite picks.
Like every city that hipsters inhabit, Portland is no stranger to vintage shops. We stopped into tons of vintage stores during our visit and were surprised with low prices and some great finds. One in particular made us wish we were locals: Flutter. Perched on N.Mississippi Flutter bills itself as "a delightful disarray of found objects and clutter" but the "clutter" we found inside was the cool kind you'd like artfully placed all over your house...

The Portland Report: Art and Retail Therapy at Land
A recent trip to Portland opened our eyes (and wallets) to some of the greenest city's great finds. This week, Sedona Fitzgerald will take you on a little field trip to "The City of Roses" for some of her favorite picks.
We finally took a break from stuffing our faces during our recent visit to Portland to scope out some impressive local art. The city was full of cool galleries, but one we'd recommend is Land on N.Mississippi. It's a two story set-up with a gallery (upstairs) and retail space (downstairs) with a laid back vibe and intimate setting.
What did we see upstairs that we loved? What's coming up at Land? Keep reading...

Inside the Continental VIP Lounge at New Jersey's Short Hills Mall
That looks like a pilot at the desk but really it's just a security guard.
The other week we were scooping up some post-Thanksgiving deals at the Short Hills Mall in New Jersey when we noticed a brand-new Continental Lounge on the bottom level near the Bloomingdale's entrance.
We quickly deduced that this was a special VIP hangout for Continental Chase Card members and fortunately for us, our shopping partner is a Continental Chase Card member (we swear on The Situation's abs!) So in we went.
Officially billed as the Continental VIP Lounge by Chase, the Short Hills location is the only one they are offering. Here are some of the perks of the lounge:
· Free gift-wrapping
· Free snacks like chips, cookies, brownies, sodas, coffee, hot tea and bottled water
· Use of massage chairs
· Plenty of seating area with flat-screen TVs
· A mobile charging station where you can charge a variety of cellphones
· FREE WIFI

A Quick and Dirty Video Survival Guide for Outlet Shopping
Many of you will go shopping this weekend, whether you're dragged into it or you've been planning on it for weeks already. If you manage to avoid the crowds or restrict shopping to local stores, we salute you, but then you can stop reading this story. Instead, we want to talk to the people with outlet shopping on their minds and plotted on driving maps. Hitting the outlets on Black Friday (or the weekend following) can be one of the most daunting shopping experiences of your year, but happily we have a video guide from Lucky Magazine with a survival How-to for outlet shopping.
In the video, Lucky visits one of the most famous (and hectic) outlet centres of all: Woodbury Common in New York State. They happen to have one of the few Balenciaga outlet stores in the world, just so you have any idea of the level of variety we're talking.
The tips are pretty spot-on, especially the one regarding joining the outlet center's frequent shopper program (even if you only plan to go once) in order to print out a sheaf of extra coupons. It really does happen like that; so don't be one of the only ones in line at 5am Friday morning without those extra discounts!

Three Fall Women's Fashion Trends that Travel Well

L to R: Banana Republic, Michael Kors, BCBG Max Azria
Flip through the pages of the September issues of glossy fashion magazines like Vogue, Harper's Bazaar or Elle and you'll find that the fashion forecast this fall calls for lots of leopard print, camel-hair coats and more of the over-the-knee boot thing. Those are all well and good, but the fact of the matter is...they are trends that don't travel well. Can you imagine packing OTK boots or wearing them to the airport and taking them off and putting them back on at security? Not to mention trying to keep your camel coat pristine and your leopard print not too flashy for the culture.
Luckily, the runways for Fall/Winter 2010 turned out some more palatable trends, ones that do travel well and, thank god, aren't just hot this season and cold the next; they're actually classic. Let's look at the Top 3 Fall Women's Fashion Trends that Travel Well...
