Have You Ever Successfully Used a TSA-Approved Laptop Bag?

The TSA's complicated new laptop bag rules didn't exactly have us running out to buy a shiny new carrying case, but of course we're always looking for anything with the potential to save us a minute or two on security lines.
So we're wondering if any of your have made the splurge. Anyone try the Targus Zip-Thru Corporate Traveler Laptop Case? We're down with the sleek TSA-approved design, but not ready to shell out the $100 price tag. Is it worth it? And more importantly, did it work? Because we'd hate to spend that much money and still have to remove our laptop from the bag.
What about the half-price TurboBag or any of the other imitators? Are they worth the investment? Did the scanners make you take your laptop out anyway?
