Hey, remember Kevin Federline? Seems like a year ago he had full custody of the sanity from the Spears-Federline marriage. But now the former Mr. Britney just got canned from his latest job as a bit actor on Broadway in "Legally Blonde."
What does one have to do to get fired from a show based on a Reese Witherspoon movie, for which MTV just cast the lead via reality show? Well... no one really knows, but we assume he wanted to introduce his own raps into the proceedings. In any case, "Blonde" is missing some of its actors and Federline, who recently assumed full custody of sons Jayden James and Sean Preston, will have more time to spend being a dad.
Other interesting stunt-casting news from this month: Aubrey O'Day of Danity Kane goes to "Hairspray"; Whoopi Goldberg steps into the shoes of a goddess in "Xanadu" and Jeremy Piven will take the lead in the revival of David Mamet's "Speed-the-Plow" alongside "Mad Men" striver Elisabeth Moss. Oh, and the winner of the MTV show was a preacher's daughter from South Carolina named Bailey Hanks who had never seen a Broadway show before.
Who let Kevin Federline out of L.A.? The famous Cheeto-pusher turned "responsible" divorced dad has crossed the country to film a multi-episode arc on the CW series "One Tree Hill," which takes place (and is filmed) in North Carolina. Federline is stretching his acting muscles to play Jason, a rock singer (not rapper!) who mixes with the all-grown-up cast.
This isn't the city of Wilmington's first major film invasion; besides hosting the teen drama of another generation, "Dawson's Creek," it has also played host to the casts of "Blue Velvet," "A Walk to Remember" and "Super Mario Bros."
If you have a reason to celebrate Valentine's day, you probably already have plans of some sort. If you only have a reason to mourn, however, you could still be contemplating: bar with friends? movie at home? shooting range? Well, here's one option for you singles in the Boston area. Kevin Federline will be hosting an Anti-Valentine's Day party on February 9 at Gypsy Bar. Friday night partygoers can bring photos of their exes to shred or simply enjoy a drink with "the biggest EX of the year."

Britney Spears is enjoying her newfound freedom and headed to Vegas this weekend, minus the kids, to prove it. Seems she spent the majority of her days away at The Palms, where she was spotted chatting up George Maloof while wearing her ridiculous "disguise" - a hot pink wig and gigantic sunglasses.
Brit also popped into the Palms' private recording studio with producer Lukasz Gottwald to mix tracks on her new album, and raked in a hearty $10,000 at the high-limit blackjack table. (See, ditching K-Fed was good luck!) Later she hit up a club with Mario Lopez, who was playing earlier at her table. Not bad for a day's work. We're just sooooo glad to see her hitting the road without K-Fed that right now we're willing to overlook the Mario Lopez bit and the cheesy extensions we caught her rocking that sadly were not part of the disguise.
While Kevin Federline celebrated his divorce by pseudo-promoting his new album in DC last weekend, Brit went her own way and jumped on a plane yesterday to spend time with the kids in her homeland: Kentwood, LA.
While in town, Brit popped over to Mississippi and stopped at her favorite gourmet eatery, Nyla's Burger Basket. Nyla, a 55-year-old family friend of Brit's, serves up fast food, lots of greasy burgers and fries, and milkshakes. In other words, wonderful food for growing toddlers. Nyla claimed that Brit looks "beautiful" with her "cute little short hair cut."
The fam left town yesterday evening, perhaps to head to Miami where Britney was originally scheduled to be headed towards earlier this week.
Think soon-to-be legally single Kevin Federline would let a mere divorce ruin his weekend travel plans? Nah. The father of, um, four, flew to Washington, DC, on Friday to pimp out his new CD, Playing With Fire, at Platinum, a massive, four-level nightclub.
K-Fed apparently made a scene with his "excessive" entourage and "drank a little, chain-smoked a lot, laughed with various members of his posse and, inexplicably, blinked a flashlight at people around the club." That's our Kevin. No need for an impromptu live perfomance to actually prove you might have rapped what's on the album. Earlier in the day, he reportedly hit up a Wal-Mart in Hagerstown, MD, to stock up on necessities for the evening ahead.
TMZ reports that K-Fed also stayed at a "cheap" hotel in town, perhaps to prep for his pending life of child-support payments ahead?
Les Deux Cafe, the legendary once closed, now reopened cafe has allegedly been seeing way too much of Federline lately.
If K.Fed.Spears was preparing for life without a newly slim Britney, and we all know it will happen someday, here is, according to Starked the type of scene Les Deux Cafe can provide for him:
Ratio of girls to guys: About 1:4 though that's hard to believe considering the overwhelming scent of cheap perfume that was permeating the air.
B***ch factor: HIGH. A friend spilled his martini on a female that backed right into him and she was furious. Despite his numerous apologies, her and her friends could only muster, "Oh my GAWD" and give us dirty looks. We could not stop laughing.
Silicone factor: HIGH. Another friend kept telling us about all the rock-hard breasts of all sizes he kept feeling on his back all night.
Music: 2 rooms playing different music. Outside patio sounded like top 50 most downloaded songs on itunes (boring), while the back room was spinning old tunes from early-mid 90s (fun). They might have been playing something else upstairs in the VIP patio, but it was too much of a hassle to fight the ocean of people to get there.
Oh, and yes, it does actually look like a residential pad from the outside, but don't let that fool you, this is not the type of place a father of four should be frequenting. Is it four, or three? Who knows.
Kevin Federline's back at it again. Less than a month after Brit popped out kid #2, he's flown the coop, and is busy trying his luck in Vegas. Kevin reportedly took the weekend off from fatherhood and checked into The Venetian to take a little (and undeserved) break from child rearin'.
The good news? He reportedly showed up alone, and left alone. K-Fed hit up the slots and then strutted off to Tao to shake it for the night. Just what every father needs, an escape to Vegas (on your wife's $$) to leave the newborn at home. We don't know how Brit does it...
