Make sure to bring him back before campfire! Tony Romo got a special treat at NFL training camp when girlfriend Jessica Simpson came to take him out to dinner Wednesday. What, no s'mores?
For all the noise about how Simpson jinxed Romo in the playoffs, we suspect it may be the other way around: Since they got together, Jessica has decided to be a country-music singer, for which she was booed at a concert in Wisconsin and roundly mocked the world over. (We haven't heard the album, so we don't know the difference.)
Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo look about as discombobulated as we do as they stumbled off a plane in San Diego recently. Jessica's lucky one of this season's in maxidresses is long enough to keep her warm on the coldest plane.
The heat's been off Simpson the Elder since Ashlee was married to Fall Out Boy singer Pete Wentz and announced her "surprise" pregnancy, but she's been re-establishing herself as a country music singer at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee.
No word yet on whether Mr. Romo joined her at the four-day summer fest or even likes country music.
Today Jessica Simpson is headlining the Operation MySpace concert in Kuwait, but is her performance going to be worth the boatloads of money it is going to cost to get Jessica from the US to Kuwait and back, at a comfort level she is accustom to?
According to those omniscient "sources," a private plane will take Simpson, her dad, and her hairstylist, Ken Paves, to Kuwait for approximately $150,000. Once in Kuwait "sources" claim Jessica will be unlikely to bunk with the troops and more likely to sleep in a proper hotel bed. Oh and Paves gets a whopping $10,000 a day just for waking up in Kuwait, so say sources. Damn. Thank God for all that MySpace cash Murdoch gave Tom, huh?
Now that football season is officially over, it seems Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is totally free to try out the celebrity sport that new girlfriend Jessica Simpson and her ex-husband Nick Lachey helped popularize: Professional Vacationing. The idea behind the game is to take lightening quick trips to exotic locations to increase your odds of getting photographed en route by the paparazzi. The more snaps taken--especially ones that could potentially make your former lover jealous--the better.
Here, Romo and Simpson slip through LAX on their way back from Hawaii, where they spent a precious few days frolicking on Oahu. True, he was technically in Hawaii to toss a few balls at the NFL Pro Bowl held in Aloha Stadium, but they managed to play both his game--and hers.
Simpson may still be considered a season-ending jinx in pro football circles--but she's smokin' Lachey in the battle of the exes.
Despite leading his Cowboys to defeat instead of to the Super Bowl, Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson are still jetting off on romantic vacations. Well, as long as you consider a trip to the Pro Bowl romantic. Still, it was in Hawaii, where no disgruntled football fans could criticize the quarterback for not keeping his head in the game.
Tony and Jessica stayed at the Ihilani Resort on Oahu, and this time, his team actually won the game. (Romo played well, too, according to people who care about the Pro Bowl.) This Valentine's Day, tell your sweetie: You've done terrible things to my career, but I still love you!
Time was Jessica Simpson was married to man who cared about football. Without the bonds of marital love, she must feel relieved that she doesn't have to keep up with the NFL any more. Well, relieved enough that when a reporter asked her who she was rooting for in this weekend's Super Bowl she said, "Go Cowboys!" (The Cowboys already lost in the playoffs.)
This weekend, don't be a Jessica. The undefeated New England Patriots are playing the New York Giants in Glendale, Arizona for this, the 42nd Super Bowl. If pressed for details, either draw a quick metaphor to the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry, or (in case you want to look like you read the New York Times) mention how Pats quarterback Tom Brady is dating a supermodel while Giants QB Eli Manning is engaged to his college sweetheart. If you really know nothing about football, loudly criticize the halftime band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Don't forget your coozy!
Not to get too sports crazy, but we're thrilled that the New York Giants beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. But despite what sports columnists might say, we don't think it had anything to do with Tony Romo's trip down to Mexico with gf Jessica Simpson and her parents. In our book, any time's a good time to jet down to Baja California, playoff season or not.
Romo and Co. flew into Cabo San Lucas International, which serves private flights. If you're hoping to get down to the cape but don't have your own jet, Los Cabos International is just down the road from CSL and has three terminals that serve North America. All six of the legacy carriers fly in, and WestJet offers seasonal low-cost service to Los Cabos from western Canada.
Much to HotelChatter's chagrin, no doubt, Tony and Jessica shacked up in a rental vacation home instead of a hotel. If you're looking to do the same, we've always had good luck with VRBO, the biggest vacation rentals site out there. We doubt it's what Romo used to book his house, but what do we know? We're not loser quarterbacks.
Jessica Simpson didn't pick up all her presents at Louis Vuitton this weekend. Instead, she was in Dallas--a place with still-decent shopping, we hear--cheering on possible flame Tony Romo in a pink jersey for the Cowboys-Eagles game. (Alas, the 'boys lost.)
Seems like Simpson is still on the rebound from her marriage to Nick Lachey. While Nick has been spotted rounding the bases all over the world with former VJ and non-famous famous person Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica gets all the "WHY SHE'S NOT OVER HIM" tabloid covers just because she was silly enough to once date John Mayer.
Fair? Not really, especially since rumors are starting to swirl about her romance with Romo, who has previously been linked with Carrie Underwood. Now there's a reality-TV show we'd like to see: "Carrie v. Jessica."
