Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan go for a walk along a Los Cabos, Mexico beach. Time to switch to a private resort, girls--you're too famous!
They weren't the only ones who hit Mexico this week for a little sun and fun. Jennifer Aniston was also in Los Cabos by herself, no doubt taking a break before the nonstop publicity around her holiday release "Marley and Me" (costarring Owen Wilson).
So which do you like better: A solo trip where you do whatever you like, or an intimate vacation with a loved one?
Only grown-ups here: Far from the sparkles of the MTV Video Music Awards, Jennifer Aniston opens her new movie "Management" at the Toronto Film Festival. The road-trip comedy stars Aniston as a traveling saleswoman who finds her last one-night stand (Steve Zahn, "Rescue Dawn") is chasing her across the country.
While Toronto's wave of premieres has featured the usual parade of smiling faces, industry insiders are feeling a little let down over last year's marquee offerings like "No Country For Old Men," "Juno" and "Eastern Promises."
Guy Ritchie's premiere "RocknRolla" debuted to tepid-to-cold reviews, and the Venice Film Festival stole the thunder of this year's Coen Brothers output "Burn After Reading." Persevere, armchair critics! The next "Ray" could be in there somewhere!
So John Mayer and his latest celebrity conquest, Jennifer Aniston, have been on vacation this week trying--and failing--to stay out of the long-range eye of the paparazzi. Their latest shelter isn't a Four Seasons or remote mountain cabin: It's the Mexican home of "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis, recently released from prison, indicted for tax evasion and cited for capturing before-she-was-famous footage of Spitzer ladyfriend Ashley Alexandra Dupre.
We have to admit, Francis does have a sweet pad called Casa Aramara--Aniston even vacationed with previous boyfriend Vince Vaughn there.
We don't know if Francis was around to receive his famous guests, but it's hard to imagine staying at the House That Wild Girls Built without at least something sketchy happening. Budget travelers covet the open invite of a friend with an extra room or a couch, but there's always a trade-off: Do you have any host- or hostess-of-horror stories?
There's nothing like combining an obnoxious ex's appearance and bad timing. Poor Jennifer Aniston was home in the Hollywood Hills on Christmas Eve, when Vince Vaughn apparently made a surprise visit to her house. He supposedly only stayed for 90 minutes, but we're sure it was 90 minutes too long. She claims they're "still friends," but we know that had to hurt a little.
What did she do to ease her pain? She took a quick 2 1/2-hour flight to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and joined pals (the Arquettes and single Sheryl Crow) to erase the memory (and the funny smell in the air) from Vince. Aniston shacked up at Esperanza Resort, a gorgeous waterfront retreat with private villas and a spa.
We bet a trip to the on-site art gallery and spa and yoga studio made things much better.
Jennifer Aniston kept the LAPD on their toes when she got close to 20 of them to escort her through the airport last week. Apparently, she'd just arrived at LAX off a British Airways flight from London (and a quickie visit to Vince Vaughn) when she was accosted by the 'razzi upon exiting the plane. The LAPD stepped up, providing her with tons of escorts, and even a motorcycled officer to follow her home to thwart any hangers-on.
Yes, Jen, we know you're huge now, but the big question is why you didn't take the back entrance out of LAX, the one that most celebs use to avoid causing total chaos like this? Perhaps she needed to make up for a boring weekend...?
