Nobody Picketed The Adult Video News Awards

Because of the writers' strike, this weekend's planned Golden Globes ceremony was reduced to a press conference and three hours of "The Night of Zero Stars" after celebs refused to cross guild picket lines. Apparently no one writes porn movies, because there were no pickets at the Adult Video News Awards in Las Vegas. Stars like Jenna Jameson hoped their films would be chosen out of the estimated 4,000 made every year to receive an AVN award.

Back at the Golden Globes, "Atonement" and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" took home best picture honors (in the drama and musical-or-comedy categories, respectively), Javier Bardem continued his murderous streak of artistic excellence and "Gossip Girl" was snubbed for best television series.

Jenna Jameson's New Hot Spot

What does a gal do after making millions off of the porn biz? Why, open a bar in New York's Chinatown--in a building that used to house a former brothel! Makes perfect sense.

Page Six says ex-porn queen Jenna Jameson has teamed up with Heatherette clothing head Richie Rich to open a new nightspot that will combine a bar with a storefront where Rich will sell his designs and Jenna her clothing picks. The two met when she modeled in a few recent Heatherette fashion shows. (Bathing suits, mostly.)

The General Store should open early next year, but the exact location has yet to be revealed. We're not sure what we think of the bar-and-boutique idea. But we are sure there's something strange about going for a drink and coming home with a new thong or two.
