Jaunted Giveaway: Of Clown Troops and Cactus Tea

And so today, our Sirius Radio Contest ends. We got some great entries, and if we could give away more Grateful Dead gear and free radios we would. But in the end, we had to pick a winner.

So congrats go out to David, who wowed us with his tale of (possibly illegal?) border crossings and substance-fueled fun.

We bought the 35-foot British Leyland powered bus from a clown troop, outfitted it with bunks for eight and headed north to play our way across Canada. We had no gigs lined up. But we carried enough idealism with us from the '60s to convince ourselves that if we showed up, the gigs would follow.

Jaunted Giveaway: We Loved Your Stories

Last week, our Sirius Radio Contest wrapped, and we got some killer entries. We asked to hear your road trip stories, and you didn't disappoint with tales of breakdowns, "smokables" and "freaks in a clown bus."

Today, we bring you our two honorable mentions. Terri managed to make it to see Roger Waters, despite the best efforts of her buddies. And Anastasia endured about all you could imagine to make it to a Mike Doughty show in Chicago.

Tomorrow, we'll bring you our runner-up entry before revealing the big winner on Wednesday.

Jaunted Giveaway: Road Trips Are Better with Music

We love live music, and road tripping to concerts has led to some of our favorite travel memories. And it wouldn't be a live music road trip without the radio blasting.

So we got our hands on a Sirius Starmate 4 radio and some Grateful Dead gear. We don't have to tell you that The Dead are still the road trip band, Jerry Garcia or not. And Sirius has just launched a Grateful Dead Channel so you don't have to stop listening to your favorite jam band just because you're driving between concert venues.

We Are Giving Away Saget For Free

Calling all Church of Saget members! HotelChatter is giving away two sets of tickets for HBO's Comedy Festivalshows, which are taking place in Vegas this weekend. Up for grabs are a pair of tickets to Bob Saget and a pair for the Maxim Real Men of Comedy show.
