JetBlue's 'JetMystery' Revealed: Destination Montego Bay
This morning, while we all blissfully dozed into the weekend, 150 prize winners, journalists and internet fameballs boarded a Jetblue flight with destination unknown. The 3-day junket party trip is sponsored by Thrillist.com, Jetblue, and a myriad of brands like Trojan, Gillette and Starbucks.
Once at their departure gate this morning, the 150 passengers had their destination revealed along with gift bags and boxes of Red Stripe beer for the long flight; they're heading to Montego Bay, Jamaica as we type. Jetblue began flying direct from JFK to Mo Bay on May 21 of this year, and Jamaica is obviously thankful, helping to support this trip with accommodations and more.

Flysteady Mon: Jetblue Adding Routes to Barbados, Jamaica
While Jetblue covers their bums on the east coast with the announcement of Boston- BWI flights, they're meanwhile letting it all hang out in the Caribbean. Beginning May 21, New Yorkers (and those connecting through T5) will be dusting off the sunblock for a new direct route from JFK to Montego Bay, Jamaica. Now where did we stash the tie-dye and dreads from last halloween?
That's not all, folks! The tropical love continues with another new route addition from JFK, this time to Barbados, beginning October 1 and therefore giving more options to the snow birds. Fort Lauderdale will also see some new Caribbean connections when Jetblue adds Cancun and Santo Domingo on June 18. We'll raise a Dos Equis to that, yo.
Start booking now for the new Montego Bay, Cancun and Santo Domingo routes, but hold your flip flops for a while with Barbados; there's international negotiations yet to be made and coconut milk yet to be spiked before New Yorkers get the green light on this route in fall.

Jamaican Me Thirsty
Holidaying in Hungary over summer? Whether you're there to fix your pearly whites or to see something of the country, don't miss the southern town of Szeged. It's a lively university community, famous for providing copious amounts of food and drink to visitors. Spicy veggies and meat feature among the most successful exports, and tourists can drop into the Pick Salami and Szegedi Paprika museum to learn more. Now that's what we call education!
Just be careful what the friendly locals put in your glass. A bunch of Hungarian tradesmen in Szeged thought they were on a winner recently when they found a huge barrel of rum in a house they were renovating. It was only after they'd drunk it dry and tried to move it that they realized why it tasted a bit odd--there was a corpse inside.
Twenty years ago the previous house owners were holidaying in Jamaica when the husband suddenly died. To avoid all the tricky paperwork his wife shipped him home in a rum barrel, and there he stayed until the builders emptied said barrel. Just the kind of crazy hi-jinks you'd expect from Captain Morgan, right?
