Reese Witherspoon and Jaunted bestie Jake Gyllenhaal took the train from London to Paris this weekend with Reese's children Ava and Deacon.
Jake's living in London while he films "Prince of Persia," the film that will probably kill the current trend of video-game adaptations.
For her part Reese just wrapped "Four Christmases," a holiday picture about a young married couple (played by Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn) racing to see all four sets of their parents over the Christmas holidays. This trip to Paris, though? Just for the pleasure of seeing Jake's shaggy "Persian" mane.
Jerry Bruckheimer joined the couple for that dinner out--probably to talk about "Prince of Persia," the forthcoming video game adaptation starring Jake that's being financed by his company.
Up next for Gyllenhaal is Morocco, where filming will continue. Maybe Reese will join him there for some souk-hopping?
One of our good tipsters spotted Jaunted fave and soon to be star of the live-action "Prince of Persia" adaptation Jake Gyllenhaal on a flight from LAX to Heathrow this weekend. Our spy could have patted the "Jarhead" and "Brokeback Mountain" actor on the head, but refrained:
He kept a hoodie up the whole flight. It appeared to be hiding long hair for the Princely role. He also desperately needed to buy and use a touché éclat from duty free.
Then again, maybe he's just flying to get closer to the space travel! Hopefully when he earns a seat on Virgin Galactic, he'll take his trusty backpack with him (shown here in a 2007 photo, and also by his side this weekend).
Jake Gyllenhaal caught a flight at LAX this week looking... well, just like any other guy taking a leisure trip. (Perhaps with slightly nicer jeans?) Darn it, Jake, we've been admiring you from afar since "Donnie Darko" and you can't even be bothered to tell us your favorite baseball team via hat?
Gyllenhaal just wrapped the film "Brothers" with Natalie Portman, about a man forced to support his older brother's wife when his bro goes MIA in Afghanistan. He's now working on David O. Russell's newest movie about a waitress who takes her workman's comp crusade to DC.
Maybe he was flying off to New York to play Uncle Jake to his niece Ramona while her mom, Jake's sister Maggie, does press for her summer blockbuster "The Dark Knight."
Looks like Reese Witherspoon doesn't need a high-priced airport concierge. Flying back from a trip to Cabo with her two kids and current travel buddy Jake Gyllenhaal, she pulled her laptop right out of her carry-on bag.
We think it's a total pain to run our computer through separately because we're already juggling our sack of liquids and a boarding pass. But the one tip we do have is to shut the thing off: There's a lot of static flowing through those plastic bins, and the last thing you want is sparks near your gear.
Of course, Reese probably already knows that drill too. If she weren't flying out of Mexico, she'd totally be in the TSA's expert traveler category.
The mile high club: Playboy readers aspire to it. Germophobes fear it. And you've probably thought about it at least once, whether you wanted to or not, while waiting in line for the loo on a jumbo jet. But if nothing else, it's a little rude to hog the throne, and Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are accused of doing just that.
According to Star Magazine, Reese and Jake were making out in first class on a flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Los Angeles, when Reese went to the front bathroom. A few minutes later, Jake followed suit. Maybe they were just telling secrets in there! At least we finally have a reason to be glad we don't fly in first class.
Sure is beautiful when life imitates US Weekly. After months of speculation, Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon's spontaneous gesture of affection at LAX on Monday suggests their relationship is more than tabloid dreams. According to US, the couple took advantage of the Italian press junket for their new movie, the Iraq war pic "Rendition," to canoodle openly in public.
Even if they weren't famous, we would say Reese and Jake were exhibiting an acceptable level of PDA for an airport. If only they could bring some of that shy chemistry to the movie, maybe they could stop it from box-office ignominy.
